First of all, every ancient document rightly stated that Bonny people are Ubani Igbos, and this includes Bonny kings, middlemen and most slaves. So don't come here and claim Bonny kings were Ijaws. That's impossible.

So the language of trade being the corrupted igbo is spoken because just like pidgin English,it eases trade and relationship in marriage.

Ibani ijaws were more lettered and educated so it was easy for them to learn and reach the igbos just as it was easy for them to sell the igbos as slaves
