Who, then, recommended HITECH.....Remi Tinubu, Seyi Tinubu, or Gbajabiamila? We all know that HITECH Construction is owned by a Tinubu ally. |

![]() I had a dream. And, in the dream, Umahi got the Emefiele treatment. He's now defending Tinubu all the way. All these statements will be used against him later on. On that day, even Tinubu will deny him by quoting these statements. One day, no matter how they try to stop it, Nigeria's version of Paul Kagame must arise. Must! Anyone who cares and who can, kindly send me any amount of MTN data. I'm doing a video course and my data is finishing. Please oh for God's sake 070-61-61-55-18. No matter what, we must survive. Thanks in advance. |

...but willingly signed and funded a contract awarded clumsily. A contract that went to companies with known track record of working for Lagos state under his influence. A contract thats obviously about a wasteful and inflated project. A project that may never repay its initial cost if ever completed. |

Was the Lagos-Calabar Highway construction project ever put out for public tender or bidding? @Grok Answer: Based on available information, the Lagos-Calabar Coastal Highway construction project does not appear to have been put out for public tender or competitive bidding in the traditional sense. The contract for this 700-kilometer highway project was awarded to Hitech Construction Company Limited, a firm owned by Gilbert Chagoury, without a documented open competitive bidding process. Several sources indicate that this decision has sparked significant controversy and allegations of non-compliance with Nigeria’s Public Procurement Act of 2007, which mandates transparency and competitiveness in awarding public contracts. Nigeria’s Minister of Works, David Umahi, has defended the award, arguing that the selection of Hitech was based on the company’s competence and track record, notably its prior work on reclamation projects in Lagos. He has suggested that the Procurement Act allows for exceptions where a contractor’s specific skills justify a direct award, though critics argue that no such provision explicitly permits bypassing competitive bidding for a project of this scale—estimated at N15.6 trillion—without clear justification or transparency. Umahi has also claimed that the project initially followed a Public-Private Partnership (PPP) model, with Hitech expected to fund it and recover costs through tolls, but later statements indicated government funding, further muddying the procurement process. Public figures, including former Vice President Atiku Abubakar and former Lagos governorship candidate Funso Doherty, have criticized the lack of competitive bidding, pointing out that no public tender was advertised, nor was the Federal Executive Council’s (FEC) approval documented before the award. Reports suggest construction began before an Environmental and Social Impact Assessment (ESIA) was fully completed or publicly reviewed, adding to concerns about due process. While the government has maintained that the project aligns with legal and practical considerations, no evidence has surfaced of an open tender process inviting multiple bidders, as is standard for major public infrastructure projects in Nigeria. In summary, the Lagos-Calabar Highway project does not seem to have been subjected to public tender or competitive bidding, with the contract instead awarded directly to Hitech Construction under circumstances that remain contentious and debated as of March 14, 2025. |

When these people talk, it is as if they consider majority of Nigerians to be fools, stupid etc, and trully some Nigerian are. So it is by chance that a company for many years associated with oga at the top right from the time he was governor over 20 years ago till date, a company his son sits on the board, won the biggest contract in the history of the country without recommendation by oga? Mr minister, fear God. Haba! |

My igbo brothers have gone deaf and will never learn,Emeifele was running his mouth defending the draconian policies of the Buhari govt while Nigerians were gnashing their teeths on the various naira policies they introduced.Fast forwarded today,he is locked up in the prison while his masters whom orchestrated the policies he carried out,are gallivanting around the world,he was made the scape goat. Umahi is being used and when the evil day comes, only then he will realise that he is just another igbo guy that they can do away with.Even having the temerity to talk down on Obasanjo, just to impress his pay masters. Its alright!!! |
