Bells University of Technology has expelled a 100-level student who physically assaulted a female student after she recorded and shared a video of him with his side girlfriend.

The video, reportedly sent to his main girlfriend, allegedly led to problems in his relationship, prompting him to retaliate against the girl who recorded it.

The university confirmed the expulsion in a statement shared on the social media platform X, formerly known as Twitter. A post detailing the decision read:

Bells University maintains a firm zero-tolerance policy on bullying and assault. Justice has been served, and the necessary disciplinary measures have been taken.

The incident, which sparked outrage online, reportedly took place on March 10, 2025.

According to sources, the female student—identified as Girl X—was physically attacked by the male student, identified as Tony, at the university’s football field. Witnesses stated that Tony severely beat the girl, leaving her with heavy bleeding due to significant injuries.

I hope he was still detained and sued for aggravated assault after the expulsion.

I'm just wondering why the students are being addressed as 'Bellstech students' when the school is not a university of technology. Their need for a catchy name took priority over the need for the name to be all encompassing.

I don't know about the school, never heard about it, but it's clearly written in the very first line of this article that it is a university of technology.

I doubt if the boy is truly expelled. When you expel a student, the institution gives a detailed information about the student (the matric no, full name and department), but bell in this case stylishly avoided all that .

And for the parent of the boy, it’s obvious they were the one that spoiled the stupid boy.
