SmartPolician:i started watching from 50 seconds and he stated that they prioritize Akwa Ibom people before others. Instablog is right. He said "No more will we bring people from Outside when we have skills to do busniess on Akwa Ibom...." The portal he talked about where companies must hire from, only Akwa Ibom indigines will be registered on it. But I support him. That is what all state governors should be doing. Ikaeniyan0:I was thinking this before I even opened the thread. I predicted years ago we would get to this stage as competition for scarce resources increase. The SE has always been at that stage anyway. Even against fellow Igbos from different States. Only Yorubas will dull always and fall hand with their 'accomodator' idiocy that is now putting the ethnic group at a disadvantage today when we are approaching days of "to your tent O Israel". This is why Senator Gbenga Daniel warned that the SW will accommodate 50% of the population of Nigeria in the near future. His way of saying our 'accomodator' ways will get us into trouble. If there are little jobs or few opportunities for non-indigenes in the SW then they will learn to stay in their state and lobby their leader for better leadership rather than continue fleeing to Lagos to swell the population horrendously and put massive strain on infrastructure to then turn around to say Lagos is smelly. 40 Likes 5 Shares |

With charms they can even eliminate the indigenes of the state who may stand of their way. A company the indigenes will go to seek for employment they will ask to go to Lagos and apply from there. Jokerman:Same here. 'One Nigeria' is redundant and not useful in our nation, or for ordinary Nigerians, today. Especially for a people more divided than ever, have nothing in common, secretly despise each other and are only being forced to remain together by Politicians profiting from central governance of Nigeria that benefits them massively but is not working for ordinary Nigerians. I fully support anything that forces Nigerians to remain in their state and agitate for the good governance they are rushing elsewhere to receive. This must be done because most Nigerians only know how to imitate and not innovate. Start a successful business today and it will be what every Nigerian wants to launch too. Let one State be stand-out, we'll-run and with jobs/opportunities etal . It will be the State all Nigerians wish to relocate to instead of demanding good governance from their Governor. To begin with, the current Akwa Ibom Governor is intentional about governance. While there should be equal employment opportunities, certain privileges should be accorded to indigenes. That's why migrants workers can't get certain jobs in places like Canada and Europe 4 Likes |

An entrepreneur wouldn't prioritize ethnicity if he/she wants growth. Ethnicity has eaten deep into the mind of an average Nigerian. I was having a conversation with a former neighbor and he started complaining how he (a man from Kwara state) went to collect indigen certificate from Lagos state and the person he met in the office happens to be an Igbo woman who told him to go and get that of Kwara state because he is not an indigen of Lagos. That was how he got angry that why would she say a thing like that to him and that she is not Yoruba and should not be working in Lagos civil service. I just laughed and told him that but the woman is doing the right thing na and you sef no from Lagos na. If the woman starts giving every Tom Dick and Harry indigen certificate of Lagos state, na people like you go say omo Igbo just dey give people certificate anyhow. Even if you want to criticize her, why use tribe to do that? Only weak and low self esteem people use ethnicity to defend themselves in Nigeria. 9 Likes |
