I want to categorically state that I am neither for nor against the Governor, nor am I for or against Chief Nyesom Wike. My sole concern is for the ordinary people of Rivers State, who will ultimately bear the brunt of these events.

While I acknowledge that the power to impeach the Governor or Deputy Governor resides with the State Assembly, as stipulated in the Constitution, I urge you to consider the broader implications of this action on the people of Rivers State.

It is true that the Governor and Deputy Governor have erred in law and acted contrary to the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, particularly in their alleged attacks on the legislature wherein your salaries and allowances were unlawfully withheld and failure to duly screen commissioners. However, I implore you to consider alternative measures that would address these grievances without resorting to impeachment.

In the spirit of promoting peace and stability in Rivers State, I propose that the impeachment notice be used as a means to bring the Governor to the negotiation table. This would provide an opportunity for constructive dialogue and reconciliation, ultimately leading to a more harmonious relationship between the executive and legislative arms of government.

I humbly request that you consider my plea and temper justice with mercy.
