ClearFlair:Do you have the right to ask them to part with their earnings? If a man takes a part of his earnings and gives it to the government to contribute to nation building he should be commended You can argue that they are overpaid. But they didn't contribute a naira from their pocket to nation building since the return of democracy in 1999 and nothing happened. Nothing would happen if they didn't do this but they chose to. How many Nigerians will part with a naira voluntarily for nation building? I am not talking about income tax which most don't even pay already |

Kelly Okungbowa, also known as Ebo Stone, has been arrested by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) for alleged naira abuse. This comes after a viral video showed him spraying and mutilating the Naira at a bar on March 9, 2025. Okungbowa, who was recently suspended as the coordinator of the Edo State Public Safety Response Team (PSRT), will face charges in court once investigations are complete. Interestingly, Okungbowa is a prominent member of the APC.

This is good, we are getting there gradually. If this gesture can continue naija politicians can grow the habits of giving back their loots. Don’t wait till EFCC drag you to court. It’s 705 millions Naira today, it might be 705 billions next year. A repented uncaught thief will still have some honor left. |

EXOUSIAng:Really? Nigerians are hungry and their lawmakers are some of the highest paid lawmakers in the world and you're trying to paint this as a noble deed. They are there to serve Nigerians Mr. Man. Let them cut the cost of governance from their end then they can be commended. Don't be funny |

ClearFlair:I know this is exactly what you will say and I ask you again. What will you have done if they didn't do this? Would you have forced the money out of their pockets? So why don't you commend them for this that they have done? People like you are the reason politicians don't care, I have many friends in some high places in this country and they will tell you, Nigerians will still complain no matter what you do so just do what is best for you.... I have 2 friends in the green chamber, they don't even bother anymore, if you build hospital Nigerians will insult them for not building a school instead of hospital, build the school they will insult you and say the money should have been given to the poor, give to the poor and share food for widows they will insult you and say you are campaigning with rice. They don't care anymore... I am close to them enough to know. I know one who was even spending our of his personal pocket because the constituency project money wasn't enough for the projects, una still rain insults on am. I was with him the last time I was in the country, even the constituency project money, he just shares it among people that matter at the grassroot level, but bikes for his boys and that's it, |

EXOUSIAng:No, people like you are actually the reason they don't care. So they stopped doing their jobs because of insults? Maybe they need to be reminded why they're in the chamber and who actually pays their salaries. That's such a 15th century excuse. One you would only expect in a society where there is no accountability. So they simply stopped doing their jobs because of insults and citizens should applaud that? If they can't do the job again, the honourable thing to do is resign |
