RAMAPHOSA: We cannot be blueticked (ignored)

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=P3H9IWVm0rw?si=TlDxAiDuZ8N2N1Pq

President Cyril Ramaphosa says South Africa is too important to be "blue-ticked" by its second-largest trading partner, the US.

"We're not being blue-ticked. We are engaging. A blue-ticking means, as I understand it, used by young people, that we are being ignored. We are not being ignored," he said.

After delivering the keynote address at the Bana Pele 2023 Roadmap Leadership Summit in Johannesburg, Ramaphosa responded to questions about South Africa's attempts to secure meetings with US President Donald Trump's administration to explain South Africa's policy positions and correct disinformation on the Expropriation Act, among other issues.

"We are continuing to engage with them and as it is now, a great deal of progress had been made by our ambassador in straightening out the path to ensure that there is meaningful engagement at the diplomatic level, so this is a hiccup. It's a hiccup we are working on straightening out.

"So, we are not being blue-ticked. We cannot be blue-ticked because we are such an important player to the United States of America, as they are an important player to South Africa from a political point of view, from a trade point of view, and from a whole number of important points of view. So, we are not blue-tickable. We cannot be ignored and so we will send, and they have sent, a message," the president said on Monday.

SA AMBASSADOR EXPELLED FROM THE US

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zjmGTzajUoU?si=BNw1IKFlE2B0Qzse

His comments come after South African Ambassador to the US Ebrahim Rasool was expelled over the weekend after Breitbart News published comments he had made at a Mapungubwe Institute for Strategic Reflection webinar.

On Friday night, Rubio posted on X Rasool was "no longer welcome in our great country" and the US considered him "persona non grata". He was given 72 hours to leave the country.

International Relations and Cooperation Minister Ronald Lamola's spokesperson, Chrispin Phiri, said South Africa received official confirmation from its mission in the US late on Friday night that Rasool had been expelled.

He told News24 South African officials were arranging to bring Rasool "back very soon".

At the time of his expulsion, Rasool's efforts to secure meetings with senior people in Trump's administration were at an advanced stage. The meetings would have taken place after a meeting with AfriForum, Solidarity and the DA.

SA ENGAGING US, NOT BEING BLUETICKED (IGNORED)

Ramaphosa maintained on Monday formal engagements with the US remained a top priority for his administration.

He said the US sent a note verbale to inform South Africa of its decision.

"That shows that they have formalised the communication, so we are not being blue-ticked. We are being recognised much as it first came out in the tweets, but it did finally come out in a formal communication."

RAMAPHOSA: Ambassador Rasool to give me full report

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Om1bequGJW8?si=5-TaWFqboPgbR6-B

"[Rasool] is going to come back and give me a full report. I will wait for a full report from him, but at the same time, we have noted the displeasure that has been expressed by the United States, particularly about the remarks he made, and we have noted that, and we will engage with them as we are already engaging with them."

The president said engagements with the US were continuing and would take place in a variety of forms, including special envoys, the business community and others from the government.

"Improving our relationship with the United States of America is a priority for us. They are our trading partner, [our] second-largest trading partner after China.

"And we will therefore seek, as we must, to ensure that our relations are on a good footing, which is one thing that we do with all countries in the world. South Africa seeks always to have good relations with all countries in the world," he added.

South Africa, Ramaphosa said, did not have enemies in the world.

"We always seek to have very good and friendly relations. So, sometimes relations with nations do go through their ups and downs … the responsible thing to do by any nation is to make sure that you deal with the challenges that there are.

"You straighten out the difficulties and we've always found that when there are such challenges and we engage, we do find solutions. So, this is precisely what we are now going to do, and this is our job."

WE ARE AN IMPORTANT PLAYER

He reiterated South Africa would continue to engage with the US.

"We will do so with deep respect for them and for President Trump as well. We will deal with the US as an important global player, as we are also an important player. So, our relations with the United States are going to be put on an even keel."

He implored South Africans not to lose sleep over the matter, saying:

I would like the people of South Africa not to have sleepless nights. Have peaceful nights knowing that we are working on ensuring that this relationship is put on a good footing going forward because we trade together.

Was the next ICC appearance scheduled for today? Nope.

Google when that will be and I'll bet you SA will be there to proceed with the case.

IsraHELL on the other hand won't attend while the bloodthirsty rednecks in the White House will be intimidating the judges with the threat of sanctions.

Just last week our gallant ambassador Rasool called the rednecks in the White House "white supremacists" right in their face and in their homeland. What the heck is IsraHELL?

We sent their ambassador packing last year, dragged them to the ICJ and supported the ICC case against Netanyahu.

He's now holed up in IsraHELL and Redneck DC. Can't travel anywhere else in the world coz The Hague's looking to cuff him 😂.

With Elon musk on the right-hand side of Trump, I doubt if he'll listen to SA. South Africans should learn their lessons from this, that their true friends are African countries - their brothers and sisters on the continent have never treated them like scums.

Every Islamist government and their allies are always bold and loud until reality hits on them. Since the Iranians started paying the crooks at ANC to do their dirty jobs, they’ve been behaving like their paymasters and they’ll soon find out.

The South African leader is very foolish. Always trying to feel that his country is important in global scene.

He kept trying to take decisions against the collective values of Western nations. Whereas, his country and it's progress was built by Western ideas.

SA is not among d major top players in international trade, neither is SA amongst the top richest countries in term of mineral deposits globally.

So their foolish leader has to calm down and learn. Why is he unduly taking sides with Palestinians in Israeli conflict? Is SA Muslim dominated?

He should try and find out why truly rich economic leaders don't just take sides and make noise on the international stage.

Trump no get joy o. I trust Trump to reset your brain for you.
