It is often said that when two Elephants fight, it is the grass that suffers. Wike and FUBARA are the two Elephants, while Rivers workers are the grasses. Unfortunately , the innocent workers are the ones been caught up in the crossfire, they are suffering more from the ongoing fight and battle for supremacy between Wike and FUBARA. Now that the federal subvention has been seized, how will workers be paid? Can the state be sustained only by the internally generated revenue? Did the judgement also deny FUBARA access to the monies generated from the state IGR? Let's hear from you.

The governor can pay from igr. He generated about 26 billion naira in igr per month. The state is not broken to the point of depending on FAAC/DERIVATIVES. |
| Re: How Will Rivers' Civil Servants Cope Now? by Quarterpast(op): 12:24pm On Mar 18, 2025 |
dalongjnr:Wait o.. Rivers alone generate 26billion monthly from IGR? |
| Re: How Will Rivers' Civil Servants Cope Now? by Pierocash(m): 12:25pm On Mar 18, 2025 |
the federal allocation is not the only revenue source affected, the entire Rivers state Revenue account has been frozen by CBN. if it were only federal allocation, the state government won't bother, but the Supreme Court ordered cbn to freeze all bank accounts of the Rivers state government |

| Re: How Will Rivers' Civil Servants Cope Now? by ceevictor(m): 12:29pm On Mar 18, 2025 |
Pierocash:It's a typical lie, it's all from Federation Account that monthly allocation to Rivers state was halted by the court, during Obasanjo era Tinubu suffered same and paid workers through state generated IGR |
| Re: How Will Rivers' Civil Servants Cope Now? by Pierocash(m): 12:36pm On Mar 18, 2025 |
ceevictor:stop arguing, federal allocation was halted before the local government election by federal high court, the state government was running the state with IGR. this is different, it is not about federal government with holding allocation this time, it is about the entire bank account of Rivers state government been frozen by the court. Tinubu's case is different, it is federal allocation that was siezed by Obj led federal government, the state account wasn't frozen so Tinubu could still make withdrawals from state account due to IGR. the current case in Rivers is different, the entire account was frozen. why do you think there is tension if igr account can be accessed? |

Quarterpast:No account is frozen oga, it is the remittance from the federal government that is affected.. |
| Re: How Will Rivers' Civil Servants Cope Now? by seanfer(m): 1:06pm On Mar 18, 2025 |
Pierocash:You're wrong.. In Tinubu and OBJ's case the LGA funds were stopped because of the creation of LCDAs.. In Rivers state case the Allocation coming from the FG to the state and LGAs are the only ones affected by the Supreme court ruling.. The state IGR is not affected. |

Quarterpast:That was the cause of governor's problems with wike. Wike was declaring 12-16billion,guy man came and was declaring about 26b consistently and oga wanted part of it. Fubara resisted and wahala bursted. https://www.riversstate.gov.ng/wp-content/uploads/2020/07/Rivers-State-2024-Q3-BPR_final-1.pdf https://www.channelstv.com/2024/04/19/fubara-reports-over-100-rise-in-rivers-igr/ |

seanfer:i can see you just want to argue, i live in Port Harcourt ,don't ague what you don't have knowledge about. oga the entire account is frozen no way to pay, this is not about igr, or federal allocation, it is about accounts of the state frozen by cbn. Are you not seeing the tension, if it is about just federal allocation, will there be this level of tension in the state, aren't you aware of the state wide broadcast by Fubara? stop arguing |

The entire Lagos allocation was not withheld but the portion due to local govts . Make una dey give correct information o ceevictor: |
| Re: How Will Rivers' Civil Servants Cope Now? by DMerciful(m): 2:09pm On Mar 18, 2025 |
Provide source to this fake news! Only the local govt portion of Lagos allocation was withheld. Rivers case is allocation from the Federation and not their bank account. Ironically, you getting the oil from Rivers state. Its like somebody harvesting your crop and tells you he'll seize it unless you behave. If Nigeria were to be practicing true federalism, all Rivers money will belong to Rivers. Nigeria is a fraud Pierocash: |

Pierocash:Oga and you think I am commenting from outside port Harcourt? Please provide anywhere the supreme court said the whole state accounts should be frozen... Just this morning I was at the Revenue house at Rainbow town. I am telling you that the IGR is not affected. |

DMerciful:Don't mind that person... They are the ones spreading fake news everywhere... How can Supreme court freeze IGR account that is not coming from the FG... |
