Woman, Four Sons Arrested For Binding, Gagging Husband In Ogun State Over Retirement Benefits Dispute


A housewife and four of her children have been arrested for allegedly tying up and attempting to harm her husband, a retired civil servant, in Oko-Filling, Araromi, Ijoko, Sango Ota, Ogun State, following a dispute over his retirement benefits.

The man was found bound, gagged, and left for dead inside his residence in the early hours of Thursday, March 13.

The shocking incident was uncovered by concerned neighbours who forced their way into the house after hearing unusual noises.

A local landlord, who spoke to The Nation, described the disturbing scene: “He was tied like an animal to be slaughtered. They (his wife and kids) got some Aboki men, about six of them, to tie him up.

“It was the strange noise from their parking that alerted residents who gathered in front of the house to know what was happening.”

"Landlords in the area who could not endure the noise at that hour decided to go out and find out what was wrong. When they got to his compound, they saw a Korope (small bus) outside packing properties," the landlord continued.

"His wife and sons were the ones packing, and so the residents asked after the man. When the response given was not satisfactory, they forced themselves inside the house and saw the man completely bound, with the Aboki people still inside the house, as though they were waiting to kill him."

According to the source, the retired civil servant had used part of his retirement money to open two shops for his wife, giving her N3 million, and purchased a N12 million car for himself.

However, his wife and their four sons, all university graduates, were reportedly dissatisfied and demanded more of the funds.

"The man was untied and rushed to the hospital. He’s still at the hospital receiving treatment. The suspects were all taken to the police station. One of the Aboki men confessed it was the man's wife that contracted them to tie him up. They were all taken to the police station that morning," the landlord added.

Was that his first, second or third wife? He probably all along was told to checkmate the excesses of his wife and he did not care. The result showed up with the greed and wickedness of the woman and the children. Again, such heartlessness from the children requires a simple paternity check.

By the way, who knows if he ever was supporting his children financially. We only saw the wickedness of the children. We did not hear their side of the story.

Whatever the story was, having given the greedy woman two shops and 3m, they planned to make the man suffer by taking away all he had. The video is of the sitting room, showed that the man is by no means a poor man.

Anyway, that’s a case of attempted murder, grievous bodily harm and kidnapping. The four children, along with their mother and the evil abokis, have many years to serve in jail. When the sons are out of jail, what they have done to their father must happen to them.
