curiobling:Nop, not if you are putting back same batteries talking of replacing your old battery with a new one. If you have a good scan tool with programming ability, you will notice a section that says battery. Its part of the BDM module re-learn, |

2cribz:Well the digital one is on the high side, you can get the manual one, which you have to know how to set.it clicks. |

curiobling:What make, model and year of car is this? The answer to this question will determine the appropriate esponse. However, see below. Generally, if you are reinstalling the same battery, you do not need to reprogramme. But for cars that do not require reprogramming (and yes there are multitudes of them), you don't need to bother yourself. |

curiobling:Upgraded? What fuse rating was there before? What was the recommended fuse rating? Which car is this? |

jceesquare:Thank you someone got the Gist at the End, I don't know why bro upstairs is struggling with this one.Bro this is where the road side Merch kills your car, cos all of a sudden you car can go to limp mode or smoke cos your fuel air mix ratio is thrown into kaumatuas, check Engine light on etc, they will diagnose running stomach into cancer. Unless someone who knows what they are doing with a good programmer investigate, the problem will multiply. |

curiobling:Your car needs its BCM and Charge management system re programmed, its a 5 mins job with the right tool. The fact that your car has a charging fuse, it means it has a charge management system. The charge system learn the state of your battery and charges as such, hence its called intelligent charge management system if you diagnose its code. In an ordinary man word, your car is charging your new battery like the Old one but the system is receiving voltage of a new full battery.SO what the programming does is tell the charging system that this is a new battery charge it as such, its that basic and simple. |

curiobling:Please replace that fuse with the original Amp, do not UP it. |

curiobling:What car are we talking about here? erico2k2:Please stop. All cars have at least a fuse for the alternator, does not mean all cars receive voltage regultion command from the ECU. You drive a BMW and I understand your obsession with this because it's compulsory, but not all cars require this. |

jceesquare:Calm down and just digest what I wrote, we get emotionally carried away sometimes that we lose focus on the subject matter, try and look at what I wrote and do the research. On the battery terminals, There is a small black bos size of a matches box,. There is a Big fuse inside. I have seen most roadside mechanics take this out in the name of tropicalization. This is the fuse that controls the charge unit. I am talking of the Battery terminal fuse boss. All in that Pic are for Toyota cars. NB,I think the last one is for BMW, cos it looks like mine Also you are wrong, you dont know me,I don't only drive a BMW, I also have two toyota brands, and a Land rover brand..The issue of charging is not limited to just BMWs.

erico2k2:NOT ALL CARS HAVE THAT KIND OF TERMINALS and NOT ALL CARS REQUIRE HAVING THEIR BATTERY REPROGRAMMED WHEN YOU REPLACE THEM. This thing no hard to understand na, why the back and forth on it nna? |

9icetoo:10amp was recommended and I continue to struggle with the check charge error even after I changed the battery. My rewire put 15amp which stopped the charge error but I asked it to be removed and follow recommended fuse rating calculation. After we removed it and put 10amp, the error message resurfaced. At this point I can't continue to stop and restart car as I used to do which was my self help to help clear the error message that will later pipped up after 5km drive was the reason I settled with the 15amp. However, The battery there is 75amp 12v ford edge v6 2011 the bigger size |

jceesquare:If you noticed, I deliberately said 2015 Up, I m not talking 2010 Camry, I said 2015 up U forgot that small details, now type in bold to tell me not all cars from 2015 need programming when battery is removed. You guys need to learn the correct ways of doing things instead of frying your car at the end. This school of thought you are supporting is same as those quacks who will get a used Injector from another car and just plug it i n and not p program it, this is what Mechanics have turned to just cos they can not move with the times. PS,I note how you ran away from the fotos I posted. |

curiobling:Follow the step in this link. https://www.fordedgeforum.com/topic/15548-2012-dead-battery-procedure/ If you have someone who has the appropriate scan tool and want to reprogram the BMS, it's OK. If not, follow the steps in the link. Leave car undisturbed for 8 hrs after installing the new battery and you should be fine. |

erico2k2:Mrtorquewrench, rest. You ask basic questions first before prescribing solutions. Before you treat malaria with hypertension drugs. 2011 what? Keke? Are we moving the timeliness from 2015 to 2011 now? Rest. |

@eriko2k2 any idea how to go about this? My Honda accord 2000 V6 transmission blinks D4 when driving. It is lazy on first gear (1) and moves well on subsequent one Scanning with a scan tool threw up 2 codes under the A/T section. -45-01 Shift Malfunction. - 41-01 Incorrect Gear Ratio. How do I fix this? I won't mind any mechanic recommendations here on Lagos mainland that can work on it. |

Good morning experts! Cc. eriko2k2 9icetoo My Toyota Camry 2001 (Envelope) has been of late having issues. I've personally scanned it with my scanner and my Mechanic has done all he thinks and there's no solution in sight yet. When I start the car it works fine for a moment and afterwards the whole system changes and the car (RPM) drops to almost zero and shaky. I've changed the Air Mass Sensor,Fuel pump, injector Nozzles, Serviced the injector system. Now the engine temperature rises in a very short while and produces black smoke from the exhaust. I have attached the screenshot from the Scans and readings too Please Help a Brother. P.S. I just serviced the car too

longyemi:The following things should be checked out 1. Check if you have leaks around your manifold and hoses that take air into your engine. Your engine is running lean. Too much unemeterd air is probably getting into the engine. 2. Check the wiring of your map sensor and 02 sensor. Please have a competent electrician who can use a multimeter do this for you. They need to check for continuity ans ground on the wiring to make sure all is well. If all is okay, swap another working ecu with yours and see if the problem goes away. If it does, your ecu is the culprit. But before swapping ecu, please make sure your have checked the wiring out properly. I assume your mechanic has checked your coils and plugs already. |

Guys I think my parasitic drain is fron my battery clip. I bought a replacement about 2 months ago, then after 2 days I saw white foam on the battery terminals and head.i took it off, filed off the battery heads and also used detergent to wash off excess. Disconnected my battery for 2 days wirh the battery out and still the battery clip wires still foaming white. For a brand new battery clips I replaced. I feel scammed and cheated of 5k,I should have bought the toks of 3k,direct from abroad Now it's not charging my battery well. I'm fed up of naija.so fake has also reached battery clips |
