Dangote isn't the problem, if for anything, Nigerians should even be happy there's a competitor to NNPC and fuel marketers.

Now let's imagine there's no dangote refinery?.

We'd buy fuel at 1000 and abv, and nothing you can do about it, We'd also have dollars at 1900.

The thing is, fuel marketers have united to ask govt to stop selling fuel in Naira to Dangote, so what else do you want him to do?..
Again, this whole issues just goes to show you that the real oil subsidy cabals is amongst the govt in power.

Because explain to me, how can you be importing fuel to Nigeria, from Malta, how can u say NNPC is refining yet to derivatives of oil and you still importing fuel against our naira.

The only narrative we are all playing with is saying Dangote is a monopoly ask yourself how many refineries do you have in this country, even your own government with all tax payers money could not make one refinery to work? Why do u then blame the man who is even trying to make one work and cheaper than how we used to buy it..

Is he wrong for seeking profit?, is he wrong for starting a business and going uo against the govtt, what is it you hold against him , do you want him to run a business at a loss after borrowing money to set up a business your govt couldn't do?.. do you prefer to be under the control of oil cabals and marketers...
What exactly is our problem?

It's not Dangotes fault. FG and NNPC stopped giving him crude in Naira.
As he has to buy crude from abroad in dollars, he has to charge in dollars.
Tinubu is busy leading a war in Rivers State because of 2027 elections, so no time to give Dangotes crude oil.

I hope they suspend the sales of crude to him in naira too.

This is why I laughed at those who wanted importation banned because if dangote.
And you think it will affect him in anyway,of they sell to him in naira. He will still increase his price, and you go still buy at high price. You think say he opened rifinary to dash you fuel grin

That was what Apc government made you all to believe.. As soon as Dangote refinery starts working, fuel price will drop grin
Re: Dangote Refinery Suspends Sales Of Petroleum Products In Naira by nedekid: 7:31pm On Mar 19, 2025
No be naija? What works in other places can never work in naija. As far as people at the top have interest in fuel importation , dangote will be forced to increase price to create a margine for them either by hook or crook. The suspension of sales of crude to dangote in naira had clear intention.
As a result there will continue to be pressure on the naira and subsequent devaluation as dangote will import crude and importers of petrol will import too.
Now we we have refinary, but unlike before we imported only petrol, today we import both crude and petrol. Lol
No be juju be dat?

"We remain committed to serving the Nigerian market efficiently and sustainably. As soon as we receive an allocation of Naira-denominated crude cargoes from NNPC, we will promptly resume petroleum product sales in Naira."

No too blame Dangote for this, this is as a result of Rivers crisis and militants blowing up of Trans Amadi pipeline. NNPC can't supply him any more due to pipeline destruction, so Dangote will be needing forex to buy crude abroad.

Nigerians should prepare to pay higher price for fuel from this weekend. Tinubu na you do this one, instead of cautioning Wike, you allowed him to use you.

Obviously you did not read the article

Importers of fuel are fighting Dangote because his fuel is cheaper and they are making loss.

The only way to hit Dangote is to stop the crude for naira deal with Dangote refinery so that his cost of production will go up, thereby increasing Dangote fuel price so that importers too will make money when they import fuel because price difference with Dangote refinery will not be much.

This is corrupt importers at NNPCL fighting back cry
you might need to revisit the article. Nnpc has nothing to do with this.

The fuel Dangote bought using USD, dey are selling more of them using naira. The challenge is whr do dey get the dollar to buy crude from the external market, as all their crude request/source does not come from Nigeria alone.

Many of you don't know what is going on - PMS might sell 2,500 per liter from Dangote in the coming months. You see, NNPC had already sold upfront crude to neighboring nations leaving Dangote as a major provider.

We need to wake up, the country has gone to the dogs. No nation has ever prospered either without a great leader or a popular revolt.
may thunda strike your skull. Animal. Why isnt NNPCL selling lower than monopoly Dangote?

No wonder dangote took d importers & nnpcl to court
Re: Dangote Refinery Suspends Sales Of Petroleum Products In Naira by AerialMapper:
Tinubu is actually a terrible president!

So let's understand this... You removed subsidy. A local refinery comes on-stream, his products are cheaper than what is being imported by the FG through the NNPCL and other marketers. Marketers start crying that they can not compete and they want us to buy petrol at higher prices... NNPCL stops selling crude in Naira to Dangote which will now force his prices to be dollar denominated meaning potential higher prices.

Well... The president needs to protect his investment in foreign refineries and so is going against a local producer..

The end

Don’t even waste your strength my friend. A lot of Nigerians couldn’t even read the article for 30 seconds to understand what NNPCL are the evil marketers are concocting. They think that Dangote is at the receiving end but he is not as impacted as they are.

Tribalism remains the greatest barrier because people will refuse to see things objectively because their man is at the helm.

That's exactly what they came out to say in paragraph 2 of the press release.

To date, our sales of petroleum products in Naira have exceeded the value of Naira-denominated crude we have received. As a result, we must temporarily adjust our sales currency to align with our crude procurement currency.
