An Ex-Naval Officer has gone viral for beating, humiliating and dehumanizing innocent hotel staff in Abuja.

Everything was recorded live on the CCTV cameras and the video made its way to national television.
The abuse of power in Nigeria is at an all time high and something need to be done about it.

3 soldiers were murdered recently by jihadists, the video was recorded and posted for the whole world to see.

2 were murdered in Benue this week.

Yet no reprisal from the military. But once they see an unarmed civilian, that's when they suddenly remember that they're in the military and start acting like street thugs.

Bloody cowards.

Their colleagues were recently murdered in Benue by herdsmen and the cowards won't do anything about it.

Na unarmed civilians body these cowards dey get power.

I was on the road sometime ago looking for bike and a soldier was standing not too far from me. I stopped the bike first and the bikeman stopped right in front of me. As I was about entering the soldier screamed at the okada man ordering him to come. The bikeman told him, "officer na this bros first stop me na".......He was giving me this stern look and sizing me up and I stood for few seconds to see what he would do.

I hissed, entered the bike and asked the okada man to move jor!.......If nor be gun these cowards for dey chop beating everyday, if he was holding a gun or with his colleague(s) that day he wouldn't have allowed me enter the bike.

On paper it is first world...but in reality things are a bit more nuanced.

A first world country that is still fighting itself over the merits of a universal health care system - which they got only in the last one and a half decades or so? huh

A country with some of the worst gun violence stats among OECD countries?

Severe income and wealth inequality? The opioid crisis? A broken public school system?

We could go on and on.

The US may be a nuclear power with the world's largest economy, the world's reserve currency etc. but it is not really a developed country in several respects.
