knowing how the ois page is setup..once u hv paid for dhl pickup...it doesn't give you any option to change it.
and the info on the avits page says ur passport will be returned to us embassy if you don't collect it withing 1 month or so.......so either arrange for proxy pickup, or u head to abuja to pick it up urself

I actually paid 50k. I don't know if I made a mistake but someone said the pickup available is only Abj and Lagos for now. It's all so confusing right now but I guess I'll just go to abj by Monday

What you paid for is OIS pick up (premium) in Abuja and Not DHL Pick up Benin. So you can either send some one for proxy pick up in Maitama Abuja or you go your self to pick it up.

Not fully completed /submitted ds-160 will not affect her application but she should submit the form finally and print out confirmation before her appointment day.
2. If you are living alone and your apartment is sufficient for both of you yes you can list your place as her arrival venue especially since she is visiting for a short time.
3. Since denial under 214B does not state a particular reason (s) just write it there that : I was denied under INA 214B which was best known to the consular but i respect the decision. But i will advise you change her reason of visit because she has been annotated for immigrant intent. GOOD LUCK.

I'm trying to schedule an appointment, after finishing everything I realized there was an error on the DoB which I have to correct, but there's no way to correct it coz I found the error at the point of making the payment, the application had been submitted already.

I cancelled the application with the hope of starting all over again, but each time I try to proceed pass the Passport details page after entering both personal and contact details, the portal tells me - Duplicate applicant user found, and it's not going further from there. I've tried contacting support, but they've not been helpful.

Please help on what I can do, please.

benin dhl delivery is 58k, not 50k from abuja, so you likely didn't read the info well, and paid for premium collect at ois office abuja-- too bad.
so you still need to travel to abuja to collect the passports or send someone with authority letter to collect the passports for you..

In the letter sent they said all applicants should arrive at least 30mins to their appointment time except interview waiver case.

Please I want to update my Ds160 and I realised that there's no update feature yet since I filled my application last year. Now someone suggested I fill another DS160 that they will update it from their back end. However, I need clarification.
1. Will I have to fill another DS160 with new email address?
2. Do I have to upload a passport photograph again?
3. Am I raising a ticket from the new DS 160 account or old account?
4. After filling out new DS 160, how can I attach it to be uploaded, is it with new DS 160 or old account?

Tell your sister to go to the oisservice Abuja you picked to ask them about picking up your passport, they’d probably give her a proxy form for you to sign, she can scan the form to you to fill and sign then send it back to her to print and take there. They will require the signature on the proxy form to match with the one on your passport.

1. You can fill with same email. Infact you can fill as many DS-160 forms as you want It is the one that you map to your appointment that will be used.

2. Yes, you have to upload passport photo.

3. DS-160 'account'? . Update/linking of the new DS-160 form to your appointment will be done on your AVITS profile. A good fella shared the process here way back which i followed and it reflected on my appointment confirmation slip less than 24hrs.

Login to AVITS dashboard and go to support on the menu, create a ticket, select Profile Inquires for the topic , fill the form and upload your new DS-160 form in the attachment section and submit. Wait for 24 hours and your confirmation number will be updated on the appointment, you'll get a response on the ticket letting you know it has been updated. I don't know if the weekend will affect the response time. I did mine yesterday and got a response today.

I asked this question a week ago and nobody replied. I figured it out and I thought to help someone else

- If you log-on to your former DS-160 form, though you cannot modify as you have already submitted, if you click fill new DS-160 form or something like that on that last page; the new form it opens for you, would have carried over some of your earlier entries, so you may not have to retype everything.

This really assisted me as it was just 2 entries I wanted to update. I doubt I spent 5 mins on the new form.

6 months should be okay. That's what I went with, despite that I know it will not be requested. I just printed it from my Internet Banking platform, no need stressing.

Hi. Denial under 214b does not give any specific reason and that is why the Ds -160 question did not ask you the reason for denial . Click yes on ds-160 and in the explanation section you have to be very careful because That is where your interviewer himself or herself will deduce the reason (s) for your denial .

I will act like a wise person and write something like this in the space ; I was denied an F1 visa under section 214b according to the rejection slip given to me ( and i respected the decision). GOOD LUCK.

For IW, dates just opened up for Abuja and even Lagos.

Good day all. This Avits really confuses me and I need help. Firstly my previous visa expired April 5th 2024 so I still qualify for IW. Payment has been made and waiver questions answered. However, for almost a week it keeps showing "pending appointment request", which when I click on shows no available dates. Is that normal response not to see any dates for Dropbox? Secondly, when I click on appointments in my dashboard, it shows below it "print appointment letter", when I try clicking on it, it tells me I have pending requests. I just want to know if I am doing the right thing and what else I can do. Thank you
