Don't use a company account as advised above; it means the money is not readily available, and VO will have a doubt. Bulk transfer is not an issue. What is important is your closing balance. The narration should be an "education support fund" and can be transferred to your personal account. Use this account for the issuance of your I-20.

Castalia:
Hello all,
Please is it OK to use a company's account for POF for F1 visa?

The company is a limited company with more than 1 director, but the dad who is the sponsor, is the only signatory to the company account.

If it is not OK, then can the money be transfered in bulk to the dad's personal account and used? Wont the bulk sum be queried?

Please i have been reading through the thread for a few days and I haven't seen this question answered directly. Kindly help.

I recently did WES. My school sent my transcript electronically to Wes, Jan 20... Wes completed my evaluation Feb 13... It was $246 (about 395k)
did your school send both certificate and transcript or only transcript? And also, what’s the difference between your actual Nigeria CGPA and WES evaluated GPA?

Please I need help .
I was having duplicate issues on my visa portal which I watched a video on YouTube on how to fix it. I followed the process everything seems fine but after I booked appointment I got a wrong passport number instead of 2 it was 3 that was on it. How do I rectify this issue?
Re: General USA Student Visa Enquiries-part 18 by Highsaac: 6:37am On Mar 21, 2025
Both certificate and Transcript were sent. Actual
CGPA(3.26/5...5-year course), evaluated GPA(3.07/4)

Hi Vickypa. You can use your father as your sponsor but you do not have to build the account . If you want to deposit the deficit in pieces go ahead and do that and if you want to deposit it in bulk you should also go ahead. But the most important point is that the statement of account must be absolutely genuine because the US consular will verify if need be.
US embassy does not use financial verification method related to UK and Australia embassies so all the US embassy needs is that the money is real and the account is genuine .
However, if you are a married applicant with kids you have to be very careful and have a genuine reasons why your father is funding you . GOOD LUCK .

Hello everybody.

I secured a fully funded masters to America. Covers tuition, 13k stipend and partial health insurance . I have a 2700 deficit though from health insurance, general fee and other fee.A friend told me to check Naira land to prep and get information about visa. Omo I read this entire thread and it has made scared. The amount of people getting rejected even with funding. I’m so scared I don’t know what to do.

Congrats on your funding. Mind sharing the school and how you got the funding? Is it GA? did you do any professional exams? Thanks.

Good evening guys. I don't even know where to start. I am a novice in this but I wanna try.
Started an application for a masters in public health with a university in USA. Paid there application fee of $75. A member of the admission board reached out to me and scheduled an interview for 27th of this month. This my first time ever thinking of leaving naija and doing such application. What are the possible questions I should prepare for? It's a 15 minutes interview.

It’s a teaching assistantship!

I didn’t write any exams. No toefl, (very difficult as I didn’t school in Nigeria, so a lot of universities didn’t wave toefl for me) also no gre, no gmat
I have a very high gpa though (graduated with high honors/ first class my bachelor’s program.)

I submitted 3 letters of recommendation, resume and statement of purpose ONLY.

Hey you absolutely have to read and prepare like you are writing an exam.

You will be asked what kind of research you want to do, and your previous research experience. What faculty member you’re interested in working with and why.

Based on what your type of research is on, you will be asked questions on that reason. Like why do you want to do that particular and your goal with conducting such research.

Basically what your plans are for your study.
What concentration? Why that?

You have to be very thorough, if you care about finding anyway. Dont forget you’re competing with Americans, Russians, Chinese, Indians, Turkish and Pakistani people and more!

So read very well and be knowledgeable on your course and faculty. Be confident.

Getting admission with funding required me to READ A LOT. So tap into that.

Above all Gods grace. I wish you good luck.

they would asked you to present your research, you just have to tell them all you can about your research.
Why did you pick the research topic?
the Methodology?
How you collected your data?
The process of data cleaning?
Statistical method used to analyse the data?
did you do any reverse coding? if yes explain why?
what are your result and interpretation?
Any policy recommendation if yes why?
Didi you fill the gap you aim to fill?
These are the little i think you should cover and also try to talk more Ethical process.

if you provide the name of the university i can suggest more question..
Good luck and i wish you success..

Hi everyone,

I recently got admitted into one of the universities in the USA and was given graduate assistantship with partial tuition waiver. So l’m working on my I-20 and visa application but requires some help.

Please l am a co owner of a small business. I and my sister started the business in 2018 from loan gotten from BOI. The business has since paid the principal and interest even before the due date. The business has been thriving and we have been able to open up branches in my current state.

So how do l best utilize this business in my visa process? Because l intend to use the business as my sponsor to cover up my deficits even though I don’t receive outright salary from the business. Is it possible that the company starts paying me monthly to build up my account or l should just use the company’s bank statement?

Will the visa officer ask for the company registration documents to determine the board of directors? Because my name is not part of the directors as at the time of registering the business.

Hi. One of the ways to utilize the business in your visa process is for the company to write a Sponsor/Letter of support (employment bond) indicating your role in the company and explaining why they are ready to fund your study abroad .

If your company can follow the aforementioned procedure then they can present the whole company's account as your POF. You do not have to start building the account, you only have to be sure that the account is genuine and have the funds that is more than your deficit .

You cannot take all visa- support documents imaginable to the embassy as a prospective F1 visa applicant. Just go with your Form I-20 , proof of funds, and academic credentials. If the consular needs further proof or evidence you can be place on 221g in order for you to go and bring the required item or whatsoever. GOOD LUCK.

Hi everyone, I used my DS-160 code generated from the site to pay and register for my visa fee, I am now unable to login in to my ds 160 account again to continue my application…it’s telling me surname and year of birth do not match , please what can I do ? NB; I didn't fill out any thing on my DS-160 except writing out the code and the security answer, before using it to pay for my Visa fee

Hi.
You did not save or you have forgotten the ds-160 retrieval information but it is not a grave mistake. Go ahead and schedule your date as soon as your MRV payment is confirmed and after gotten your required date you can fill another ds-160 and have it updated in your aviits portal.
However, you may have a little delay in realising your desired date because the US embassy now access your ds-160 before granting dates especially for F1 visa applicants. That is why they state it on the website that you must complete and must have submitted a ds-160 first before requesting for a date . GOOD LUCK

I just got admission into a school and I have three questions.

Firstly, I got admission into a previous school accepted admission and was given an I-20 later the school I wanted accepted me an gave me another I-20, I have not paid the SEVIS fee or filled the DS-160. Will having two I-20 affect me?

Secondly, I have a 5 years B1/B2 Visa and I want to go to the US next month and come back that same month. I think if I don't use the B2 Visa it'll affect my application for F1 visa. I also think they might think I'm running away to enter the US because I have admission. Should I go or not?

Lastly, If I apply for an interview right now what is the earliest time I could get?

You use the i20 and pay the SEVIS fee for the admission you want.

ICBP can not see that you have admission so travel on your visit visa. You haven't even applied for the F1 visa so I'm not sure why you're thinking of all sorts off scenarios for something you have not applied for.

Noone can tell what date for interview you will get.
Till you schedule and see what you get
