2015
In January 2015, less than a year after the 2014 Chibok abduction, in the village of Malari, Borno State about 40 boys and young men were abducted by Boko Haram.
2018
In February 2018, approximately four years after the 2014 Chibok abduction, in the nearby town of Dapchi again another 110 schoolgirls were abducted by Boko Haram, with no government intervention intercepting the abductors yet as of 4 March 2018.
A UNICEF report released in April 2018, claimed that more than 1,000 children have been kidnapped by Boko Haram since 2013.
2020
In December 2020, more than 500 boys were abducted by a group of masked gunmen from a secondary school in Kankara, a town in Nigeria's northwestern state of Katsina. Later, Boko Haram took responsibility for the abductions. Seven days after the incident, 344 boys out of the group were released due to successful negotiations by the Nigerian government.
2021
In February 2021, three mass kidnappings occurred at schools in Nigeria. In the first incident, gunmen kidnapped over 40 people, including at least 27 students, from a school in north-central Nigeria. In the second incident, on 25 February, gunmen abducted 317 girls from the Girls Science Secondary School in Jangebe, Zamfara State. In March 2021, another mass kidnapping in Afaka resulted in 39 students (made up of 23 females and 16 males) being abducted from Federal College of Forestry Mechanisation, Afaka, in the Igabi local government area of Kaduna State.
2024
Most recently, on 7 March 2024, criminal groups (commonly described as bandits) attacked in Chikun Local Government Area of Kaduna State in north-west Nigeria. They abducted about 286 students and teachers at the LEA Primary School Kuriga. A few weeks later, Kaduna state authorities announced the release of 137 of the abducted students.

Thanks to my governor, you spoke well. We don't do sentiment mostly in Edo. Jonathan was a big failure to south south. Can Jonathan point to any road infrastructure carried out in south south. He will just go and patch some area or start few kilometers and abandoned it. East west road is an example. How can you be president for six years and couldn't complete that road. Someone who could not take a decisive decision during his time. He should go and sit down cos he misuse our chance. Only God knows when that opportunity will come again.

Nothing supercedes the 1999 constitution which the president swore to uphold!

The constitution is explicit on what constitutes the imposition of state of emergency and the same constitution also makes it clear about how elected officials can either be removed or suspended and none had anything to do with state of emergency!

Any disobedience of the constitution by the president should be taken as a serious matter and in saner climes could even snowball into an impeachment proceeding against him!

Interestingly,the same Tinubu who has imposed and suspended elected officials had in 2013 criticized GEJ for imposing a state of emergency in three war ravaged states in borno,yobe and Adamawa yet GEJ maintained the respective governors and state assembly in those state in accordance with the constitution!

My happiness is that very important personalities are speaking up and outrightly condemning the unconstitutional actions of the president which has forced the presidency to change their reasons for taking that illegal stance!

I do hope this illegality by the presidency is taken to the apex court for their own interpretation but with their recent kangaroo judgements and strong allegations of financial inducement from the executive,I have my doubts!

See a clueless and indecisive governor who does not even know what is happening in the state is talking about national issues. Blind man wan claim to see pass who get eyes. Okpebholo that cannot even coordinate the agberos in Edo who have destructed lives and properties. Na Edo them need to suspend the useless governor. The little gift that was killed by your suppose PSR, did you say anything about it. Your aides have been in the news for the wrong reasons. A state that has acting local government chairmen and also celebrating the decamping of the acting local government chairmen that are his party members. Like father like son, because that was how the olodo suspended elective local government chairmen. If APC understand wetin people dey talk, nobody is challenging the state of emergency but the suspension of the elective officer is what people are saying. God really punish us as a people with this plague called APC.
