Fubara Denies Links To Militant Groups, Explosions by InfoGuru118(op): 9:55am On Mar 24, 2025
The suspended governor of Rivers State, Siminialayi Fubara, has distanced himself from militant groups threatening the federal government over the political crisis in the state, ThisDay Nigeria reports.

Fubara in a statement signed by his Chief Press Secretary, Nelson Chukwudi, and released in Port Harcourt, on Monday, regretted that people are trying hard to link him to militant groups.

He noted that communities, where the reports of explosions were reported, have dismissed the claims of attacks on oil facilities, stating that the whole claims were targeted at his person.

The statement read: “Virtually all the fake videos have been linked to alleged militant groups in the State, with the creators of such content trying very hard to connect them to supporters of Governor Siminalayi Fubara.

“Already, the communities where these incidents are alleged to have occurred have reacted, dismissing any claims of explosions on oil and gas facilities in their domains, and reassuring that all critical government assets within their areas are safe, secure and efficiently functioning.

“For the avoidance of doubt, Governor Siminalayi Fubara has no link to any militant group, does not contemplate any such association, and has no reason to encourage any criminal group or elements, anywhere in the State or Niger Delta, to undertake any action inimical to the peace of the people or safety and security of oil and gas facilities, and by extension, the economy of the country.

“The Governor had repeatedly made it clear at every public event that the peace of the State is paramount to him, and that he would pay any price to secure and sustain peace in the State, as it is only in an atmosphere of peace and security that governance and development can thrive.”

Fubara in the statement warned against attacks on government critical infrastructures, urging criminals to steer off the state.

He said: “Governor Fubara vehemently warns purveyors of violence and economic sabotage to steer clear of the state, and avoid any attempt to use his name or capitalise on the present political crisis to foment trouble in the State.

“It is also important to warn bloggers and social media hirelings to stop, forthwith, their campaign to create an atmosphere of tension, chaos and anarchy in the State, as their fake reports and posts in the last couple of days have triggered enough wrong decisions that would not help the State move forward.

“Security agencies should take note of these fake videos designed to misinform the people, and further paint the State in bad light, and take every necessary steps to contain them, and bring those behind them to book.”

Every good student/observer of politics in Nigeria knows this already.

It appears like they coordinated the attacks just to declare state of emergency.
Just a single pipeline was blown, and in less than 24 hours, he rushed and declared SOE.

Fubara didn't condemn this Ijaw militants and leaders when they were making threats to disrupt oil facilities. He even goofed by making that statement of giving orders to the youth when the time comes.I don't support the suspension of the governor and the legislature, but i think a political solution in which the governor is going to pledge loyalty to both Wike and PBAT,is the way forward in this rivers crisis.

The route of the Judiciary may not bring the desired results for Fubara.I think there is a loophole in a governor from another state approaching the supreme Court on behalf of rivers state. Is this really a dispute between FG and states that a state attorney general can approach supreme Court? I don't think so.The governor can sue in personal capacity from the federal high court and that is going to take a very long time and may not get to the supreme Court before the end of his tenure.Just two months of the sole administrator being in charge, the governor is going to lose at least 70% of his political support in the state.Even the Chief Judge that was sympathetic to the governor, may withdraw support for him.In Nigeria if u don't have access to state funds to give out, people hardly support u especially politicians.Fubara has terrible options and I wish him well.

Fubara is now receiving it the hard way !

The past months he will feel it.

Jimmy Cliff released one song some years back.

The song says ''who feel it knows it''
Re: Fubara Denies Links To Militant Groups, Explosions by Asonaijaaso: 10:03am On Mar 24, 2025
There has never been any concrete evidence linking Fubara to militant activity. The entire country knows that Wike commands far more political influence and grassroots loyalty across Rivers State than Fubara ever has.

This current narrative feels eerily similar to the tactics used by IBB and Abacha—manufacturing phantom coup plots to eliminate threats under the cloak of national security.

Now, Tinubu and Wike appear to be applying that same playbook, only this time they’re dressing it up in democratic language. But the essence remains the same: neutralize dissent, control the narrative, and eliminate competition—by any means necessary.

He has learnt in a hard way, then he was saying when the time comes he will tell the boys what to do, now he's distancing himself from the boys. When he's back on the saddle, he must have learnt how to behave maturely.

“Already, the communities where these incidents are alleged to have occurred have reacted, dismissing any claims of explosions on oil and gas facilities in their domains, and reassuring that all critical government assets within their areas are safe, secure and efficiently functioning"

This should be seriously looked into to confirm the truth or otherwise of this statement. If this is a statement of fact, then it is begets to say the Presidency acted on a false security report to declare a SOE?

He didn't also accept it before or after the state of emergency. He was obviously waiting to get the details of actually what transpired and evil men like you tried to pin it on him. If you were reasonable enough, you should be bothered where he said no such explosions happened in the communities where it was reported to have happened. If this is true, one begins to ask where the Presidency got the security report it acted upon to declare the state of emergency, was it from the social media that the president is getting security report?

As governor of the state no single pres statement, no single condemned about the bombing when it happened, no pim from commissioner of information in the state.😂😂😂 you can only fooled the fools.
If you give them money to bomb the pipeline as governor you go still issued statements condemning it if you smart. But you surround yourself with paperweights and chest beating fools.
