Thinis bad, but is luxury to most Nigerian hostels.

I went to write POST JAMB at OAU Ife

I spent the night at one hostel, my friend's room with about 8 or 10 other boys in fact we had to sleep on the balcony, some were sleeping on what's meant to be the aisle


There were rooms without doors, there were some without windows or both

In fact rats, big rats were jumping over us without any reservation whatsoever...

The way they were all used to it, like it's nothing, the other boys and the rats

I won't talk about the mosquitoes and bad smell

That was when and why I decided never to stay in a school hostel as an undergraduate, I wouldn't imagine...

In Ghana, their university hostels can never be like this.
You can never find 8 people in a room in any Ghanaian public university. Nigeria has failed we.

I once lived in hostel B in 2011. The hostel environment was notorious on its own. But then the lively nature of the hostel, the car park ( monkey post) and food village made it memorable.
I left the hostel for a lodge upgate at the end of the 2011 session. However, cultists no gree us rest. #reminisce
