The court found him guilty of multiple breaches of professional conduct, leading to the revocation of his legal license in the United States.

legal processes vary from one place to another, so let’s not jump to conclusions, besides, even Senator Imasuen's situation doesn't automatically apply to every case, and I don’t need to read Rules 23 and 16 to know how to have a civil discussion.

Lawyers, doctors accountants and other professional bodies that licence practitioners have PROBITY rules

Practitioners are required to disclose any issues within the realm of misconduct

and registration form generally ask the question about ANYTHING TO DECLARE
Failure to disclose such would amount to gross misconduct.

In this case the alleged issues are
Dishonesty
Conduct likely to bring the profession to disrepute

You cannot move to another jurisdiction to practice in the US having been disbarred for dishonesty and in this case specifically dishonesty involving a client as alleged

Your idea of common sense is really bizarre

The registration forms of most professional bodies is such that you cannot avoid mentioning that you have been delisted , debarred, struck off or even arrested/convicted
Failure to make these disclosures on its own is a very serious offence

I am sometimes surprised how some people reason. Imaseun was disbarred for misconduct that bothered on stealing. And rather than even offer any defense, he ran and relocated to Nigeria.

Now are you saying a thief in New York should be regarded a honest man in Nigeria and given a position requiring integrity? Considering again that he hid the record of his disbarment from his declaration to INEC?

There is nothing political about punishing a thief and a dishonest person. Imaseun does not deserve to be a Barrister or Senator at all with such records and conduct. He is already rubbing the image of the Nigerian Senate and the title of "distinguished" Senator in the mud.

That's one of the best books I have ever read i think i read it in 1997 if my memory serves me right....loved it as well as his other books too. There was a movie based on the novel.
