Nigerian man cries bitterly from heartache following SA win

Bafana Bafana have been handed a huge advantage as the Super Eagles dropped points against Zimbabwe in their FIFA World Cup qualifying match on Tuesday evening.

South Africa now sit comfortably on top of Group C with 13 points following a 2-0 win over Benin in Ivory Coast. Bafana Bafana are now five points ahead of Benin Republic and six points ahead of Nigeria.

South Africa are in a tough spot as they face a potential three-point deduction for fielding Teboho Mokoena against Lesotho despite his suspension. Bafana Bafana secured a 2-0 win in that game, with goals from Relebohile Mofokeng and Jayden Adams, but the blunder could cost them dearly.

Mokoena had accumulated two yellow cards in the Fifa World Cup qualifiers against Benin and Zimbabwe, making him ineligible for the Lesotho match. However, his participation went unnoticed until after the game, putting the team at risk of punishment from the football governing body.

However, the blunder was not picked up by Lesotho, and they missed the 24-hour deadline to report the matter to the match commissioner, CAF or FIFA. In the event that Bafana Bafana are docked 3 points, Lesotho would move to second on the log with 9 points, resulting in the Super Eagles dropping to fifth position and second last in the group.

Nigeria have also protested against Bafana Bafana.

Our defenders were a total mess. They all wanted to score instead of playing their role as defenders.

It's better to have SA dropped the 3pts for Lesotho...it brightens our chances the more...Na to find ways of beating the 4 of them ...SA, Rwanda, Lesotho and Benin...
