A man diligent in his work, as highlighted in Proverbs 22:29, is someone who excels and is dedicated to their work, and such a person will be recognized and respected, even standing before those in positions of power.

What I have noticed is --- an average Nigerian is not diligent. I remember hiring a manager to manage tenants. Every new tenants pass through him and he gets his commission no matter who brings the tenants. Every time I have to tell him what to do, find out why rents are not being paid on time, encourage him to do meetings to ascertain tenants' concerns. My plan was beyond agency fees. He bought a Toyotal muscle and didnt inform me. I told him I would have been happy and celebrated your achievement with you. Maybe he felt I wouldn't be. I had big goals for him, but we had to part ways.

Now I just manage all my tenants directly with my Engineer. My Engineer has been with me more than a decade. We celebrate his children's success. I forward paid him to make sure he could pay University tuitions for his children. Now 2 of them are graduating with 2nd class upper. One now works for two international companies out of Lagos. I can send him money for project and be at rest. Last year, he ended up with a Govt contract showcasing all the projects he has done with me and my foundation under Oyo State Govt. Was he perfect no, but his recent govt project was considered one of the very best. Be diligent, don't be greedy, don't be jealous --- stay honest and humble.

Back to the matter, how do you manage going over and beyond when some people are already feeling you're doing too much and using that to Target you, which might bring you down? It even goes to when some people start feeling like you're doing their own job.

How do you navigate that?

All you listed are not generic with all company’s. It all boils down to the “INDIVIDUAL” motive, structure, policy and aim of the company.

God has everyone's template for promotion. Believe in whatever good plans you have for your company just as OP wrote and do your job well. Even if Promotion doesn't come in your work place, you will be recommended somewhere better than you were.
