Parliamentary system of government is still better than this rubbish we practise.

At least, the political offices get to reduce.

Is the prime minister appointed or elected? Who is more powerful between the president and the prime minister?
Good question. Let me ask you, who was Nigeria's first president? Was it Nnamdi Azikwe? Why was Tafawa Balewa, the PM targeted during the coup?

It is the system of government that gives the PM or President powers.
The title president and prime minister are rarely interchangeable terms for the same position. The differences between the two, however, can vary greatly depending upon which countries you're trying to compare.

Although the differences between the positions can vary greatly from country to country, there are a few generalizations that can be made. For example, a president is usually considered a head of state, whereas a prime minister is usually a head of government.

As a head of government, a prime minister usually leads the operations of the government. As head of state, the president acts as the chief public representative of the country and often performs many ceremonial duties such as welcoming foreign dignitaries to the country when they visit. In many countries, the president is the commander-in-chief over the armed forces.

Another major difference is how a person gets to be either president or prime minister. For the most part, presidents are elected by the people. Prime ministers, on the other hand, tend to be members of a legislature that chooses them to be its leader.

The exact powers and duties of either a president or a prime minister will depend upon the particular country they serve, as well as the system of government and laws in that country. For example, a prime minister in a country that also has a president will often have fewer powers than a prime minister in a country in which a monarch is the head of state.
So Akpabio can become the Prime Minister if the members of parliament choose him. When German President visited Nigeria, the Chancellor, Olaf Scholz was not here. It was the President that came. Olaf Scholz succeeded Angela Merkel and you know who you could remember between Merkel and their President then. The German president is not the head of government but he also has powers, it's like making a Governor General when the British ruled or a monarch's equivalent.

Changing the form of government means little if the same individuals remain in power. No matter how you repaint a lion, it remains a lion.

Democracy is effective only when we uphold both its benefits and responsibilities—ensuring accountability and justice, rather than selectively embracing only the parts that serve personal interests.

So why was the bill to have presidential election same day as others passed second reading?. Why not replace it with parliamentary election. I support this bill, let's go back to parliamentary.
If they replace it with parliamentary election bill, it still has nothing to do with the amendment to have both presidential and governorship elections same day. Two different bills to achieve two separate things

This is very good.
We will return to the decentralized system of government we had in the time of Tafawa Balewa before Aguiyi Ironsi destroyed everything because of his greed.

This Bill is the Game Changer. It gives room for continuity of Political Economic Reforms and management of the Regions under their respective leadership.

Do not criticise this bill simply because you are ignorant of how it works. Criticise only if you know how it works and you can explain it.

Instead of this why not a Bill to change geopolitical zones to Regions with each headed by its own Heads of Region.

Thereby scapping either the Senate or the HOR and subsequently allow each region's HOR to make laws that is suitable and applicable to their respective regions.

A Bill to turn all these 6 or 7 geopolitical zones to actual regions with each having its own supervising leader to manage their own regions the way they like and with a President of a United Regions of Nigeria.

Advantages:
. It will bring serious competitive development
. It will relief the stress on the Federal government.
. It will foster peace and communal understanding of values, customs and tribal unity.
. It will help in regional policing.
. It will reduce waste in redundant ministries.
. And more.
