This same people who are calling for Abiola to be immortalized are the same people criticizing the honorable gentleman, professor Humphrey Nwosu who defiled the courts and conducted the election, and also defiled the army and went ahead to announce the results until he was forcefully stopped. If this group of people are kicking against Prof Nwosu, then tribalism and Nigeria has become sesame. Mutual trust is gone for good. IT WILL BE TO YOUR TENTS OH NIGERIANS |

Ikaeniyan0:"Babaginda never told him to stop the announcement" Are you for real? Did they not bring a court judgement telling them not to proceed? Was he and his entire team not sacked? Abegi after they have sacked you what else remain? Babaginda sacked you and you will now do a press conference or what saying this is the winner? Where? How? Do you want to die? Are we talking about the civilians here or Military? Were you born yesterday? I guess you were born yesterday because if you were not you will know what is like living under a Military government |

happney65:Lol When did Babaginda sack him? A court cant stop INEC from doing it's job. How will you feel if Obi win the 2027 election and INEC refuse to declare him the winner base on a court judgement? Nwosu already had the full result with him. Go and ask your parents, uncles and aunts about what happened on that day cause you don't really know the details. Nwosu was never sacked, he stopped calling the result and fled. |

HonNatasha:Is Oshiomole a Yoruba. Every sane person knows it is nonsensical to immortalize a fearful electoral umpire who was not brave enough to announce already collated result and declare the winner. |

happney65:If he had announce the the results without the remaining state (taraba) and was eventually silenced by the military, same hypocrites would still blame him for announcing the results when all the states aren't in and him going against the military after him and his team was sacked. |

MrBadNews:Im not listening to anything he is saying. Gowon also have an excuse for everything that happened before, during and after the civil war, and a lot of Igbos don't want to hear it at all. Nwosu had the full result with him, if he declared Abiola the winner, heaven won't fall. It was under the government of Jonathan he eventually called out the full result and declared Abiola the winner. |
| Re: My Brother Died Because Of Prof Nwosu, He Doesn't Deserve To Be Immortalised by MrBadNews: 9:10am On Mar 28, 2025 |
Ikaeniyan0:You should have told him to start fighting military Generals with bare hands just to proof how courageous he was, by the way taraba result was purposely held for some reasons best known to the state rep, forgotten his name though. But with the results available by Nwosu it was obvious Abiola won the election. |
| Re: My Brother Died Because Of Prof Nwosu, He Doesn't Deserve To Be Immortalised by Ikaeniyan0: 9:13am On Mar 28, 2025 |
MrBadNews:He was giving a job to do, he should have done his job. He had the result with him, instead of doing his job he abandoned his duty and fled. There was no time in history IBB declared Nwosu wanted. |
| Re: My Brother Died Because Of Prof Nwosu, He Doesn't Deserve To Be Immortalised by MrBadNews: 9:17am On Mar 28, 2025 |
Ikaeniyan0:The same IBB that annulled the election. He did his best by letting the world to know that Abiola won the election even though it was annulled. He is truly a hero |

Ikaeniyan0:Did you know that the electoral commission then was not independent? Do you know what the electoral act used then says about declarations of election? The military ruler then declared the election inconclusive due to reports of irregularities in some areas. These were his words. How then do you expect the NEC chairman to declare a winner for an election that was not completed? |
| Re: My Brother Died Because Of Prof Nwosu, He Doesn't Deserve To Be Immortalised by Ikaeniyan0: 9:23am On Mar 28, 2025 |
MrBadNews:Wait!! Do you think it was on the day of the election, the election is annul? Bro, please go and ask your parents, uncles and aunts how the event unfolded instead of arguing blindly. You don't know how the events played out yet arguing with someone who knows about the event. Just imagine Obi winning the 2027 presidential election but INEC chairman refuse to call out all the result and declare obi the winner of the election. |
| Re: My Brother Died Because Of Prof Nwosu, He Doesn't Deserve To Be Immortalised by Ikaeniyan0: 9:27am On Mar 28, 2025 |
Sheuns:You're asking me chidish questions. It was the job of Nwosu to announce the election and declare MKO the winner. He fled from his job instead of doing what he was appointed to do. Just imagine Obi winning the 2027 election, but the INEC chairman should flee base on flimsy excuse instead of declaring Obi the winner. Nwosu didn't fully do his job, he does not deserve to be honored. His action made it very hard for MKO to retrieve his mandate. |

Ikaeniyan0:Hear things from Nwosu's mouth and not responding to I say from your uncle's or auntie that might be biased, I gave you a link to the man's life interview on soundcity TV, you said you wouldn't watch it that it's your Uncles and parents version that you choose to believe. |

Christistruth02:Were the elections annulled because Nwosu did not announce elections results? The man was ambushed as he was waiting for the last result from Taraba State. Did you people expect him to announce incomplete results? Despite that he still went to court to have the elections stand You guys should leave Nwosu alone and face those who annulled elections |
| Re: My Brother Died Because Of Prof Nwosu, He Doesn't Deserve To Be Immortalised by IgOga(m): 9:29am On Mar 28, 2025 |
Calling Nwosu a brave man in the bill is rewriting history. The adjectives used to describe Nwosu in the bill were made up and misleading. There were court orders in 1993 pro election and anti election. Arthur Nzeribe was famous for claiming on television that he got a court order to stop the announcement of the election results. However several states have already annouced their election results which clearly shows that MKO Abiola (SDP)has won the election The National Electoral Commission (NEC) chairman, Prof Nwosu, never formally announced a winner or declared anyone winner of the election....in the drama of pro and anti court orders IBB went on TV to annul the election. Annulment is not cancellation of election. Annulment means there was no election. Nigerians started protest because there was no way Tofa (NRC) can win. Abacha would later imprison MKO Abiola for declaring himself the winner of the election Abiola's death in prison in 1998 was what gave birth to the democracy we now have in Nigeria. Infact in 1999 major political parties agreed that the only fair thing is for a Yoruba man to become the democratic president since MKO actually won the election. That is Why the contest was between Obasanjo (PDP) and Olu Falae (AD) Nwosu until his death never declared the winner of the 1993 election. The idea that he was brave is debatable. It was Lagos state government that first declared June 12 as the true democracy day in honour of MKO Abiola, followed by AD/ACN states in the southwest Mohamoudu Buhari as President officially recognise MKO Abiola as winner of 1993 election....and June 12 as the true democracy day. Something Nwosu never acknowledged. IBB will later in his book recognise Abiola as the winner Many Nigerians died in their fight to release MKO Abiola from prison and recognise him as the winner of the 1993 election Nwosu as NEC chairman and IBB as president conducted arguably the most free and fair election where no winner was annouced....no election |

MrBadNews:Forget what he said, I'm telling you how events played out. He should have finish calling the result and declare MKO the winner of the election before fleeing. His cowardly action made it hard for Abiola to retrieve his mandate. He didn't complete his job, on what basis should he be treated like a hero? |

gidgiddy:The cowardice is glaring, why can't they face those who annulled the election. |

Ikaeniyan0:He should finish calling an incomplete result. By the way, why can't you guys attack the people that annulled the election ? |
| Re: My Brother Died Because Of Prof Nwosu, He Doesn't Deserve To Be Immortalised by Ikaeniyan0: 9:35am On Mar 28, 2025 |
MrBadNews:The election was completed, what was left was to start calling out the result and declare MKO the winner. He fled instead of doing his job |
| Re: My Brother Died Because Of Prof Nwosu, He Doesn't Deserve To Be Immortalised by MrBadNews: 9:38am On Mar 28, 2025 |
Ikaeniyan0:It wasn't complete, it remained taraba result. Now face the generals that annulled the election, and stop being a coward. |

Ikaeniyan0:Ani olodo ni e. I'm sure you were born yesterday. As in he just stopped calling the results because of nothing and not because he was being threatened. The same Man that had already conducted the Govornship, and federal house.of Rep and Senate. As in the same first senate seat Tinubu first got as Senator was in 1992 and the last was the Presidential election He even had a bench warrant of arrest for him because he wanted to continue with annoucing the official results. But No,He should have annouced the results when the very military that put him there said they dont want. Abeg you said he ran away,What did Tinubu and others did? I guess they didnt run away too? They stood and Nigeria and fought for abiola. Isnt it? Olodo.. ![]() "At the end of voting, when it became clear from the majority of the results already collated from the states that the candidate of the then Social Democratic Party (SDP) Bashorun M.K.O. Abiola could not be stopped from winning the contest, the then Chief Judge of Abuja, Justice Dahiru Saleh ordered NEC to halt the process. Again, Nwosu stormed the ASO Villa, but this time, he found that the government had withdrawn his support. The then Attorney General of the Federation (AGF) Clement Akpamgbo, who gave Nwosu legal backing earlier, did not only ditch him but also ensured that a bench warrant to arrest Nwosu issued by the Chief Judge of Abuja was duly served. From then, Nwosu became labelled as the problem, while his Electoral Commission was formally suspended forthwith. The only other option left to Nwosu was to seek judicial cover from the Court of Appeal, Kaduna Division, headed by Justice Achike With no one else behind Nwosu except the Commission’s vibrant Director of Legal Services, Bukhari Bello, with Chief Tony Ojukwu SAN, OFR, the current Executive Secretary, National Human Rights Commission. NEC drew attention to an earlier judgment by a higher court in which Oguntade JCA as he then was, established two main points. The first was that where a court makes an order in a case where it lacked jurisdiction, the order was null and void; and second, that it was unnecessary to go on appeal in such circumstance. This suggested that Nwosu had no business obeying the erroneous decisions of the lower courts. Interestingly, NEC produced in Court the COMPLETE RESULTS OF THE ELECTION, which he had been stopped from announcing and which confirmed the victory of MKO Abiola. The real problem was that some ambitious military fellows aided by a set of compromised politicians wanted to prolong military rule. At this point, the government, sensing that it might lose the case, decided to annul the election a few hours before the judgment of the Court of Appeal." https://thebossnewspapers.com/2024/06/15/celebrating-unsung-hero-of-june-12-prof-humphrey-nwosu/ |

MrBadNews:You dey mind them. Those blaming him ran away ni o. As in they didnt even wait one bit. They left abiola to his fate . But Nwosu should be the one to face the Military and tell them to go to Hell. In one of their meetings when he was insisting on going ahead with the annoucement. Abacha shouted on him and was like "Who the hell do you think you are" Na that kain person he should be facing. A bloody civilan lasan.. Na who wan die? ![]() |
