That's why ...it is good to buy your appliances from a reputable stores and buy a well known and reliable brands ......
Not all those yeye brands that has flooded the market..

Switch off freezer that is loaded with meat , fish , food portions etc ?

My freezers are always on 24)7 ....it has a regulator, will automatically turns off when it is hot and turn back on.

Should we also turn off our fridge?

Na so I wan switch kitchen socket on to boil my kettle that year and the kain shock wey I receive no be here o. From that day before I near the werey socket I go wear thick oven gloves for hand.

Death traps every where both outdoors and indoors. I opened my backyard gate once and the metal gate touched next buildings fence burglar proof barbed wire that unknown to me was connected to electricity na so I receive electric shock o but a minor one.

I know an internet cafe back then whose whole computers were damaged by over high voltage from PHCN.

It's fake.i got a fake fan abt 2 year ago,me dat I'm using solar the fan suddenly sparked and coil got burnt.since I was still in warranty,I form 1man soldier that day,I later added 5k and they gave me this same OX fan as replacement.since then,could never burn.tho b4 they sold the 1st fan to me,as at then,it was the cheapest of 14k,while this ox was around 25k. My back up fridge for my restaurant get problems. Na so the electrician wey repair am go work fan join add to the back of the fridge. Fan wey no come with the original fridge o. Na so, one day one of the old women cooks I had started panicking saying the fridge was on fire. I calmly walked up to it and switched the socket off with a long wooden pole. I was going to throw the errant fridge into the recycle bin but a friend said he needed it. I just decided against buying second hand again and went straight to Cash and Carry at Ikeja and bought a brand new fridge - then costing around £45k.

If the National grid of country of 220 million people can be so unstable as to be collapsing intermittently, then the electric supply from PHCN itself is capable of damaging appliances if not lives.

Na the products wey our flat head brothers dey bring into the country be that from China; highly substandard nonsense.
