ZinnyG:Hello. The only avenue for every F1-visa applicant to get their desired dates is to apply for the expedite visa appointment. US embassy gives priority to F1 visa applicants so if you do the process accordingly your emergency appointment will be granted before your school resumption. You must have date-sign your form-120, paid mrv and SEVIS fee , and secured your first date before you can apply for the expedite visa appointment. Good LucK. |

Emmanuelkanayo1:Yes, you should pay your SEVIS fee to stand a better chance of having your expedited appointment request granted. |

Emmanuelkanayo1:Payment of SEVIS fee is not compulsory before getting expedited appointment date. Just make sure you take the necessary steps in making the emergency appointment request especially putting in all the required identification details and date of school resumption. I got mine approved after nearly 3 working days and i never paid the SEVIS fee before it was approved. But you must pay the SEVIS fee before attending your interview. Good luck |

You can join the active date search group here: https:///FOnmQ0CVpBY0yH62MAK6Xh On Tuesday, during the search and posting of available dates that was when someone noticed a lot of dates became available for Abuja and people quickly booked appointment. Hopefully, dates for Lagos open up soon too. Before you JOIN, note that, you're going to actively search for dates too based on the time given. If you don't, you will be removed. kennyjam:

Good afternoon everyone, Pls, what can be done in this situation. I have an appointment soon. My school resumes in May. But I have to go to another country (African country) for work and I will have like a resident permit. How do I change my application and interview to the new place? Do I fill another form still on the same receipt or how do I go about this. |

iyaaliyah:Iyaaliyah. Taal17 have told you the truth. You cannot transfer non immigrant visa appointment from (example) Nigeria to Ghana or one country to another . You can only change /reschedule your non immigrant visa appointment from one state or post to another within the same country (ie Lagos to Abuja). You will have to cancel your present appointment and go to your new country to purchase another MRV (visa fee) , fill ds-160 aligned to that country and book your new appointment. NOTE: You can only transfer immigrant visa appointment from one country to another with genuine reasons and despite that it's 30 over 100% approval chance. |

Obiora94:How old are you? How long have you been working? Your sponsor is the problem |
| Re: General USA Student Visa Enquiries-part 18 by welf99: 1:21am On Mar 31, 2025 |
VO asked a simple question. Who is your sponsor? Your response failed to answer the question. Your reply is premeditated that's why you couldn't provide an answer. You have an opportunity but your response messed it up. What is the sources of funding stated on your I-20? Billions123: |
| Re: General USA Student Visa Enquiries-part 18 by gracefoundmme(m): 9:02am On Mar 31, 2025 |
I feel the sponsor is the issue here. You need to demonstrate that you and your sponsor have a very strong connection in the past and say things she has done for you financially and why or what warranted such, could be your higher education, supporting your family...etc Also, share what she does and prove to the VO that she actually earns that amount and even much more. Good day all. So I’ll appreciate any help concerning my issue. I went for my visa interview last month. I’m going for a one year. 2nd degree nursing program and it costs about 70k. Both my dad and uncle are going to be paying for it but on my ds160, I said I don’t have relatives abroad (because my uncle got his immigrant status from being a student first) so I don’t want that to affect me at all, so I stated that just my father will be funding . On getting there, the VO asked for my sponsor’s annual salary and I said the truth, intending to say he had saved up some more for my education (the one he has saved up being the part my uncle will contribute). Her countenance changed immediately I said his annual salary and she denied the visa. Now I want to go for another interview this month and I’ll appreciate any help from anyone regarding what I can do regarding the situation. Thank you. |

Finance is something you will deliberately plan, beginning from your I-20. Ensure you talk smartly and boldly about your finances, and you should know that it's already in your record what your dad earns. Alvinaknight: |

Good day everyone, I would like to like to get opinion on this. Is this a good response for the what has changed question ?, previous interview, I went for a course not related to my undergraduate and no funding. VO:what has changed Response: Me: officer , I have been offered a full tuition waiver and a graduate assistantship by my school which was not the case during my last interview. I am also going for a program that aligns with my career and academic background which I am very passionate about. |
| Re: General USA Student Visa Enquiries-part 18 by Efetobore1980(m): 12:58pm On Mar 31, 2025 |
Alvinaknight:Hello. Going for 2nd degree instead of advancing in education has to be absolutely facilitated by a career change and you must have spent at least 3 successful years in the career. Otherwise, the consular will regard your new academic sojourn as for immigrant intent. Your dad and your uncle were listed in your i-20 as co-sponsors but in your ds-160 you misrepresented that fact by omitting your uncle. Dont you know that your american school is communicating with the US consular through your I-20 ? If your uncle had entered the US legally through F1 visa and graduated and become a citizen tell me what crime has he committed? I dont know the occupation of your dad (as filled in your ds-160) but the consular did not beleive that your dad's annual salary can cover your 70k deficit, therefore you should have sticked with your joint sponsors and not contradicted yourself. In your next interview, fill your ds-160 with the absolute truth , mention both father and uncle as co-sponsor and gét necessary finnacial document from both party. NOTE: You still have to prove the honesty of your 2nd degree to the consular officer . |
| Re: General USA Student Visa Enquiries-part 18 by Efetobore1980(m): 1:21pm On Mar 31, 2025 |
Chaton30:Hello Chaton30. Your kind of F1 preparation idea cannot work for a visa success . How can you be equipping yourself with only the question of what has changed ? How did you know the consular will ask you such question? For your information, US consular officers will not ask a returning visa applicant such a litigation question. What has changed can only be proved in your visa application (ds-160). Your previous f1-visa denial reasons as narrated above is also a generalisation . 214b denial slip does not give any reason. It only gives a generalized reasons based on ties , finance and intention. Go through this thread thoroughly and research all transripts related to your case. We have seen some MSc & PhD visa applicants with full fundings getting visa denials. Don't go with those your idea and answers. they looked premeditated. Good LucK. |

In your transcript, you mentioned a $10,000 personal fund. Send the statement to your school and request an updated I-20. It will read Personal Fund: $10,000, Family Fund: Bleep. With these, you can explain that you are sponsoring yourself and have saved $10,000. Your sister will also contribute Bleep towards your study, as stated on the I-20. The follow-up question would likely be to establish your sister's financial capacity. You might be lucky not to have a follow-up question about your sister but about what you do and how much you earn. I would like to advise visa hopefuls that your journey to visa approvals relies heavily on your I-20 funding sources and how you answer questions on DS-160. Visa interview is the last stage of this process. Obiora94: |

Obiora94:For your sister did you say 48k dollars or pounds a year ? Reapply, next time start with you as sponsor then ypur sister then you add tuition assistance. Explain how you saved 10k if asked as well. Try again, I don't think you did anything substantially wrong...it happens sometimes By the way your school is affordable imo 22k including licong expenses not bad |

https://www.nairaland.com/8356654/building-self-esteem-confidence Self esteem and confidence plays a huge role in application process, interview as well as succeeding in America as a student or professional. Is there anyone that might be experiencing difficulty with this here? Please lets talk on how to greatly improve that. I am in the early stages of developing a program around self-esteem and confidence, to help professionals who currently feel inadequate and anxious about their capabilities but have a strong desire to transform into a self-assured, confident individual. They often struggle with self-doubt, fear of failure, and overthinking, which holds them back from fully embracing their true potential. This is incredibly important work and in order to create the most impactful and transformational program possible, I am looking to interview people who fit this description and learn more about their challenges, frustrations, dreams and goals. This is purely for research purposes to be able to create something truly impactful. Do you fit this description, or do you know someone who fits this description that I could interview? Maybe a friend, family member, colleague or someone in your network? This research is crucial, and I would greatly appreciate the opportunity to connect. The result is to help professionals who are feeling stuck with imposter syndrome or self-doubts, to have a shift in mindset that allows you to move through life with confidence, clarity, and purpose. To where you can gain public speaking confidence, and you are able to freely form needed deep relationships. If you fit this description, please respond to this email immediately so that we can schedule a time for an interview (it won’t take more than 30 minutes). Or if you know someone who fits this description, please forward this email to them and ask them to reach out to me by using this link https://calendly.com/kunlei/inquiry-discussion-call I understand that this is a sensitive topic, and I want to assure you that any information shared will be handled with the utmost care and confidentiality. |
