he should have followed his boss IBB instructions and not declared the results . The problem with the Igbo is always trying to do the right thing in Nigerian politics when everyone is doing the wrong one. When you are in Rome behave like the Romans. Humphrey Nwosu case should be a lesson and eye opener for every igbo person including the ones that never learnt any lesson from Ironsi foolery
Lol like Maurice Iwu?

Yep Maurice iwu followed his script clearly in loyalty to people who appointed him . The mumu Jonathan that replaced him with jega after they pressured him, where did it land the mumu man today? I consider Maurice iwu smarter than Humphrey Nwosu because if Nwosu had done what iwu did nobody would have ever mentioned Abiola won an election. The only memory of Abiola would probably be the treasonable felony he committed against the government by announcing himself president and Nwosu could have been a billionaire from government corruption like his successors and predecessors at INEC

One can stand up today and say that the South west people are the most despicable in Nigeria today...

They now heap June 12 and everything all of a sudden on the late Humphrey Nwosu and nothing to the northern generals...talk about real cowardice!
Same way they heap it all on Peter Obi as if he's the president...what a people!!!!

People know you guys hate the Igbos and I don't think they give a damm

Cowardice you say, just like Awolowo who drank "Otapiapia" to end it all instead of standing to fight on for what he believes in.
In Nigeria we know the tribe who are cowards.

Spit on your forefathers grave.
Someone that refused to announce results, when it's clear there's a winner 😂

Cowardice is that you 😂

E no get mind 😂

Lol people knew the figures of all the results received from different states because it was more like an headcount because people had the figures announced through different media houses. Nwosu was not the reason why people had those figures. He failed to do the most important thing; declare the winner! And Babangida confirmed that was entirely his decision.
when today's inec claimed that their computers are malfunctioning when they saw how Peter Obi was dealing with tinubu did Nigerians protest?if military cancelled the election then there is nothing Yoruba people or abiola can do about it or will Yoruba people go to war with Nigerian military or are they expecting western nations to help them fight ?

What does SE stands to benefit from honouring Nwosu? The man did not try enough to warrant the honour but if they need it badly,The SE governors can easily do it without forcing it on Federal governmentI
I know Tinubu willl eventually give him something for political reasons but the true of the matter is that, Nwosu doesn't deserve it

Sure he did.

His wrong decision alone is a great lesson for every leader, on how to live and die for the truth.

His life taught us how not to live a life of cowardice.
You can't exactly blame him for not announcing the results. He feared for his life. Life meant nothing under military governments

It is exactly people like you who alienated Yorubas (Obi defeated Tinubu during presidential election in Lagos!) from Obi. Such comments including others like "Lagos is no man's land and belongs to no one" or "Lagos is smelling" or horrible personal attacks on Yoruba elders will make it almost impossible for Obi to win any future presidential election. You guys are just dividing opposition votes.

Tinubu faced the military and ran out of the country...
Wole Soyimka faced the military and ran out too...

These two are not cowards.

They want Prof Nwosu to face the military and be slaughtered like Kudirat Abiola and co to prove he is not a coward...

All these for the ambition of a rogue like Abiola who stole d nation dry through Nitel and wants to advance his looting by becoming president, a script Tinubu is currently playing.

Nwosu is an intelligent man to die for Nigeria is to die for nothing, don't know why those stupid criminally minded senators are making demands for his immortalization, they should be moving a motion for separation of the southeast region from evil contraption could Nigeria filled with hate and bitterness

If Nwosu had obeyed his boss IBB instructions and not released any results of that election by now nobody would ever mention Abiola won because if you do you are committing treason already. Humphrey Nwosu risked his life for nothing including almost being totured to death by soldiers at dodan barracks for disobeying Babangida over nothing . IBB could have comfortably announced tofa his fellow northerner as president and handed over power to him if not for what Nwosu did by announcing 2/3 of 26 states which showed Nigerians Abiola won those states
Yet some fools still condemned him for doing that just because of the hatred they have towards his tribe

Honouring someone is not by force, the man deserve no honour, he didn't sacrifice for Nigeria, he didn't do anything extraordinary...why do grown men sulk liike babies, crying and whining till their father give them some cake grin

Nwosu lived for himself and his family, he was well paid by the military and they used him, he didn't protest, he didn't announce the results, so why honour him?

It was Nigerians that voted not Nwosu.

We must stop honouring dishonest people, this is why Nigeria is going under, politicians must stop playing to the gallery and destroying our values just to appease their foolish gullible people, do real things, development etc, not this nonsense.

After Nzeogwu, no Igbo man in his right mind will stick out a neck for the Yoruba, after we experienced first hand, how Awolowo starved more than two million of the relatives of those that tried to install him as the president.

We thank God for the bravery of Prof. Nwosu, and profusely thank Nwosu for just following the constitution. If he had announced the winner like a tout, the same Abiola would have joined the north in blaming Igbos for the fracas that would have ensued.

Only fools will be blaming Nwosu for aborted June 12. Only fools will believe lie Babangida was telling about him. Why is it after his death just few months ago, not in the last good 31 years the hypocrite Babangida lied about him?

If Mahmood Yakubu refused to declare Tinubu winner after having all the figures in 2023 according to the power the constitution confirmed on him, it's very likely that Tinubu will not be the president today. The PDP and LP supporters drama prior to formal declaration was to stop that final declaration because it's the most important aspect of the electoral process.

Imagine Yakubu refused to declare Tinubu winner of that election citing pressure from presidency/Buhari and Tinubu decided to declare himself the winner after few days, you already know what would have happened.

Nwosu refused to do the most important aspect of the assignment and many people still think it was deliberate.

Now you are talking. This is why Nwosu only deserved verbal recognition and one minute silence and nothing more.
kids of nowadays smh you probably thought he was announcing results from an IPHONE and have the liberty to start and stop anytime he wants…smh so if you were appointed INEC chief and your boss told you not to announce results you would have sneaked into NEC federal building in Lagos on a weekend and start announcing results like Nwosu did and when the soldiers heard the news on tv , rushed into the building, caught you with some journalists and ordered you to stop announcements of results with rifles cocked at you , so you would have continued? Doesn’t sound like common sense to me at all. What you mentioned in the first paragraph is exactly what happened to Abiola .He was equally more foolish than Humphrey Nwosu by going to announce himself president under Abacha and paid dearly with his life for his foolishness. If not for Nwosu announcement the only thing Abiola would have been remembered for today is being a man that committed treasonable felony and deservedly died for it

Good for him. No one is blaming him for not announcing Abiola. Even before now, most Yoruba intelligentsia don’t dwell on Prof. Nwosu, we majorly face IBB in our struggle.

What we are saying is that you guys should not rewrite history by claiming he announced the result and thus need to be immortalized. That is exactly what SE senators are saying on the floor that made the SW senators angry including Oshiomole.

Prof. Nwosu people should hold on to his cowardice and stop trying to paint him as courageous. It’s simple like APC.
