The whole explanation are at variance with each other. The only slightly reasonable explanation was the one tied to historical account where Danfodio gave up eating of meat as a sacrifice to Allah. It is not crap if you understand how genetic engineering works. If there is a century old culture of a large group of people who don't eat a particular type of food, chances are that with Time their genes will develop an allergy to that food and all offsprings of these people would carry that same gene that is allergic to the food. It's just purely how nature works. That gene strain might become redundant or outrightly bred out if these people marry into another groups of people who are not allergic to that food.

This is one of the reasons why interbreeding is not advisable because it doesn't help the gene pool to adapt.

You people should try and do more study on things that are not PDP,APC and Nigerian celebrity related.

In the olden days, every true story the leader wants the culture to obey for generations is wrapped with a fictitious story which contains repercussion.

Without repercussion, the next generation won't obey it. Since the mind is powerful, what you think regularly, you experience or become.

In my place, you can't have female dogs because our king accidentally sat on his dog's tail and it hurts badly and the dog bit him to death and that was how they ruled against female dogs. Then, they added extra stories to it.

In these people's case, they added the health issue part just to deter them the same way our parents told us to stop eating suya that abokis mixed them with human parts and it'll lead to sickness.

The history makes sense ... why goat meat is not popular with Fulanis. But how can one be eating the meat up to age 18 and at age 19 suddenly becomes allergic to it? I guess it's all about mind over matter ... becomes allergic because one believes it has become wrong to eat it. As in I do not eat dog ..... but maybe I did but didn't know ... mixed with beef .... enjoyed the meal ... digested it very well and even gained some weight . But should one give me dog stew .... even if I force myself to eat it ... my throat will not allow me to swallow and skin is likely to break out. Their culture...who are us to say what they should or should not eat? To each his own ...live and let live .
