Former Kaduna Central Senator,Shehu Sani,had announced his intention to contest for re-election in the 2027 general elections.

Sani made the declaration on Sunday while delivering his Eid-el-Firt message at his residence in Kaduna.

"Any politicians contesting an election depends on the political equation that determines the position to we for,if the conditions are right and the equations are favourite,I will offer myself to contest specially for the Central senatorial district," he stated.

He further emphasised that his ambition remains secondary to ensuring the re-election of Governor Uba Sani for a second term.

"For now,our priority is to see that incumbent governor,Uba Sani,is re-elected.We will work with all our might and strength to achieve this.We know there will be challenges and opposition,but we are well well prepared for all forces," he added.

Sani also used the occasion to urge Muslim to pray for Nigeria's peace and unity during the Eid-el-Fitr celebrations.Additionally,he condemned the recent killing of hunters in Edo State,calling on security agencies to apprenhend the perpetrators.

"If citizens cannot move freely across he country,then we are not truly a nation.If individuals take the law into their hands for any reason,it means there is no government or authority," he lamented.

He called on all Nigerians who desire a better country to work towards peace and unity for the preservation of democracy, despite the challenges being experienced.

Sani also urged the government to uphold fundamental human rights particularly the right to life,as a crucial step towards national stability and development.

Shehu Sani cannot win the primaries under the APC in today's Kaduna unless he's gifted the ticket. In any case, he will lose the election proper if he manages to get the ticket. He has no electoral value but he seems to be overrated by non-northerners. He got 2 votes from delegates (himself and 1 other) when he contested for the gubernatorial primaries under PDP. Tinubu is relying on his likes to deliver the North for him. We will learn politics together.

It was obvious that was his game plan abi-nitio.

This is one of the most useless Senators in recorded history of the Senate.

He brought no democratic dividend to the people of Kaduna Central only his "Grammar" speaking skills in the Senate.

Shehu Sani had the temerity to share transistor radios as a constituency project.

After being relegated to content creation on Twitter now "X", He wants to re-coup lost monetary grounds through his Senate ambition.

This his bid to the Senate is purely opportunistic and will be for his personal enrichment rather than the collective good of the Kaduna people.

Despite spending years on social media criticising the government, there's no guarantee he would perform differently if given the chance to lead. During his term as a senator, his idea of a constituency project was distributing transistor radios so that his people could listen to the news, an outdated approach in the 21st century. This hardly seems like the work of someone who's serious or genuinely dedicated to his constituents' development.

Be wary of those who only criticise, as they often lack leadership skills themselves. Perhaps it's best to leave them to what they do best: criticism.
