Controversial content creator Just Adetoun has ignited mixed reactions online after publicly criticizing a struggling woman for taking her 11-year-old daughter to her street-sweeping job as early as 4 a.m.

In a viral video, Just Adetoun confronted the woman while she was working on the streets
with her child. She accused her of exposing the girl to child labour and warned her never to involve the child in the job again

Sharing the video on her Instagram page, Adetoun called on society to recognize and condemn child labour, urging people not to normalize such situations despiteeconomic hardships.

The bolded is the point I was looking for. You have to look at the context to see the full picture.

When people have limited survival options, they choose what's most safe for them. The same person will blame her for leaving a girl child at home in search of food while she and government are not providing any safety net to stop people from doing this.

Posting the girl is the real child abuse. What's her business? She said it is a Public holiday, so, she couldn't leave the girl at home. What even if it is not a Public holiday and the child will go to School from there?

You said it aii! I once boarded a bus that an elderly man was the conductor. He has being doing his job diligently for long. On this day, after passengers alighted, one of them called him aside to tell him how derogatory the job is, to his age. The old man felt bad and thought about that for the first time I think.
I called the man and asked how much he has pledge to him to start a decent job, he kept quiet.
Since then, the old man stopped and decided to be helping drivers to call passengers into their vehicles then beg them for money. To me, that's more derogatory.
What if the man had turned into a robber?

It may be hers. I used to assist ny mum in her cleaning business while i was in secondary school very early in the morning, not just me but my siblings also until she stopped that services.

It was done on the premise of relieving her and making the work faster, but i don't subscribe using other people's children a bit no matter the situation.

Some content creators have empty-brained like this one. Clout-chasing attention seekers.

I don’t know why Nigerian women will see themselves in a hard situation and the next thing they want is not to allow their children to have something different or better. They find themselves struggling and the next thing their female children most especially they force to struggle with them. The child must not be integrated into the suffering, it’s an act of bitterness from the women.

So because you don’t sleep as an adult as a result of the decisions you made and where fate took you, that child must not sleep. Bitter and wicked action made out of jealousy of that child’s peace.

That aside some situations call for taking the child along like if nobody is home but the child must not join you to work at that four or five am. You are the adult, shoulder your responsibility and let the child be occupied with one nice thing or the other while staying with you as you finish up.

If you won't be the solution, don't add to the problem. Real life is not ideal.

Sometimes you have to give way for compassion. It is not like the girl was sent out alone to sweep while the mother is sleeping at home. They are there together, probably to finish before day breaks.

It is not everything ypu see, you record and post on social media. This is the reality of many poor homes. Many Nigerians on social media these days, act like they have never seen poor families. This is how they get by.

The outrage should be why a domestic worker in Ikoyi is being paid less than N25,000 monthly!! That is what she should tag LASG for.

You are the one that needs a recycled Chinese brain. If the girl is not her daughter and feels maltreated, she should have talked cos she will get help.
Children go to help their parents who are food vendors to take things down by 4am so they can cook early for customers.
Go to market places in the afternoon, you will see children selling their parents wares even after School. No big deal!

If she took the child to someone's else to do job then it's a child abuse in this matter.
