I suspect the name change is a way to take credit away from Dr. Tony RAPU, who helped grow RCCG by founding the Apapa Family (aka Freedom Parish), from where pastors like, VP Yemi Osinbajo, Mfon Eskor, Itua Ighodalo, Agu Irukwu, ID Iluyomade, Ghandi Olaoye (Soun of Ogbomosho), etc, were mentored to go plant many RCCG parishes around the affluent parts of Nigeria and the World. Also, the most godly and christ-like thing would’ve been to use that occasion to criticize the bad government under TINUBU and call for reconciliation of all Nigerians, but hell will rather freeze over before it happens.
