It may be selective or injustice to you. But if you are a rank and file in the job, you have to be very careful. Those you are saying have stay away from work are superior officers, maybe office men, if you are ops,MOPOL, tactical,SPU,SIS, anti terrorist or IGP X squad and been attached to beat, if anything should go wrong, one is in soup, it is a dismissal offence depending on days,weeks or months been absent from duty. If you are not lock up in cell or go to jail, be thanking God

it's called abscondment. It's a serious offence under the Public Service Rules and can lead to dismissal. Unless you have the backing of à superior or à godfather, don't go AWOL.

Spending increases with the income. As a sergeant, one may be putting up with someone else as the salary may not afford a decent accommodation. With this demotion, there is an urgent need for drastic adjustments. Otherwise, the man will run into financial crisis. I hope God sees him through this trying time of his career.
