Mariangeles:
The purpose of food is enjoyment for me o. And I like varieties. 😀
I can't imagine giving up some many things that I love eating.

Well, you're trying sha.
Since you're seeing the result, keep it up. 👍🏼
I have now come to hate rice and pasta including breads. I have not had them in a month now and I feel so good. I was so tempted when my wife made yam porridge with dry Ghana yam but I was able to overcome my temptation.
The thing is, when you stop taking carbs and sugars, you lose your cravings for lots of these food, ai have lost cravings for rice and beans and all the high carb food.

Are you completely sure about that?

Me, I don't think I can fully be filled without carbs o. Not that I eat it too much though.

There's a reason we have more carbs variety than proteins.
Maybe because the human body need carbs more? 🤔

@ your wife's yam porridge, you don't know what you missed.😌

A lot of people come here to learn. We should be mindful of the info we put out here.

It’s really hard and pretty difficult cutting off carbs 100%.

Also, too much protein will affect your kidneys … especially when you’re over 40.

Yes, I also do intermittent fasting. I only eat between 1pm and 5pm, Mondays through Fridays, and on the weekends, I eat 3 full meals with enough carbs, healthy fats, and protein to match.

My weekly meal during intermittent fasts are very low in carbs, and I make sure the low carbs are complex carbs, mixed with enough protein and veggies.

Our body and brain works well when it’s source of energy is from carbs.

Too much protein is unhealthy for the body. Infact, your body ships out the excess ones and use the one it needs… that’s putting more strain on the kidneys…. And in due time, it leads to kidney failure/CKD.

You don’t need more than 35g of protein at a seating… even the 35g is for people that exercise a lot… for people that are less active, you don’t need more than 25g or 27g per meal.

The blueberries you have right here is carbs and sugar, though natural sugar… so you see, you can’t cut off carbs 100%..
Nnamdipapa:
I agree with you, I have now modified my diet to make it more Keto while still cutting out all carbs/Sugars and processed food. I did that to get more fibres for my stomach digestion.

This is what my meals look like now for the past one week, I still eat once a day and never hungry in-between meals.

You don't know much about blueberries mu friend.

5. Supports Immune Function

6. Anti-Inflammatory Properties
The compounds in blueberries may help reduce inflammation in the body.

You don't know what you are talking about my friend. I run tests regularly on my health and I have never felt better in my life, I am no longer on type 2 diabetes medications, no longer on high BP medications , I know sleep naturally without the help of a melatonin. I check myself on a daily basis to monitor progress and dropped 20 points in one months.
At this point in my life, I will take my lived experiences over the researches of 100 Havard trained physicians. I am now building muscles for the first time in my life because of the energy provided by my new diets. You can do whatever works for you and I will only document what works for me.
I have been on Tuna for the last five days.

You make me laugh my friend lol... I eat blueberries, strawberries, raspberry, blackberries, and apples with Greek yogurt 0 fat, Mondays through Fridays. I break my fast with that at 1pm, then dinner before 5pm... Berries are rich in fiber like you said, they help regulate your BG... but still, they are carbs cos they contain sugar. That is exactly my point... stop misleading people that you cut off carbs and sugar 100%.

See, there are a whole lot of food that don’t spike blood sugar.

You can’t claim to cut off carbs and sugar 100%, yet you’re eating berries.

You only get fiber from carbs.

On this plate or bowl alone, you have up to 25-30 g of carbs… yet you claim I don’t know what I’m talking about.

It’s okay to say you’re on a low-carb diet, not a zero carb diet.

We all learn every day.

How's the diet coming along, Nnamdipapa? cheesy
I see you've added broccoli.
Can it still be considered as carnivorous diet?

I wish I could just slam some delicious dodo on that platter to make it perfect. grin

It is a Keto diet, I added broccoli for the fibre and still cutting out all the carbs. I just finished eating and I have my meal for the next seven days prepped.

It is going very well.

Bro, what is fiber ? Is it protein, fat or carbs?

How can you claim you added fiber to your food and in the same statement claiming you cut out all the carbs?

There are different types of carbs, and fiber is one of them.

Moreover , carnivore diet means consuming only animal products and nothing more.

If the meal is working for you, that’s really great…. But please stop misleading people here and taking us all for a fool.

You're still on the diet?
How's it going so far?

Your platter looks good, by the way.
What's in the mug? I hope it's not beer.

You know, sometimes I wonder if those avocados there taste good like the ones here Nigeria, since they seem to have them all season.

I am still on the diet and still doing my exercises. I believe Nigerias Avocado taste better because it should be more natural. We get ours here from Mexico.

In the mug, I had lemon, water and Ice. I cut up the lemon with the back and soak in ice water.

Research actually says that a vegan diet is more healthy and better. You can get all the nutrients your body needs on a vegan diet.

Carbs are not your enemy, low fiber carbs without protein is. Try proteinic whole grains: guinea corn, buckwheat, fonio, etc.
Eat garden eggs, cucumber, coconut, raw onions, lightly cooked leafy vegetables.

You will get all the nutrients your body needs, you will even be healthier, cleaner and stronger than carnivores. Also less susceptibility to various diseases. It is your choice though.
