Taal17:Thank you so much for the encouragement, I will reapply. Just wondering if the procedure is the same as when I did my first application . I have requested for a deferral and new I-20. |

Obiora94:Should be the same process. If you can defer till winter term that's fine. |

Can anyone please help me I have a deficit of 2748 dollars, my health insurance and general fee was partially covered. But my tuition, non residence fee, some other fees was completely covered alongside a $13,400 stipend too. I’m currently filling out my I-20 paperwork and there’s a part that says “Does this amount cover the total financial support necessary for your first year of study as outlined above?” When I say “No” I’m asked to provide a bank statement. At the same time I can’t say yes because I have partial general fee and health insurance My uncle was supposed to let me use his bank statement for his deficit but he said he can’t be of help anymore. Someone advised me to be self funded. I should put about $5,000 in my savings account and send over my bank statement for my I-20. Please would you guys advise me to do that? Because I know when filling a de -160 form I would be asked about my salary which I would say is 150-200, So how is it possible I have 5000 dollars in my account. Also I can look for a way to get the money by next week. It would reflect on my bank statement that I just put the money. Would it not be sketchy. ? Please can someone advise me on what to do Next ? Im really confused. |

Please I need advice on how to go about this. So I retrieve my DS-160 form to make some corrections. So now my new DS-160 confirmation number is different from the one on my Avits portal. So I tried sending a message to support asking them to make the correction for me since I can't do it myself. But they were asking for my confirmation page of the new DS-160 form which I don't have yet because I was not ready to submit the DS-160 form yet. So now the issue is that I have already book an appointment date. So I am confuse if I submit my DS-160 form and send support the new confirmation page and they make the corrections will it still reflect on the already booked appointment page? Or I would have to reschedule? Or I should just go to the interview with both my old and new DS-160 confirmation page? And I won't face any issue? (Note: my appointment page will be have the old DS-160 ID number and not the new one) Please how can I navigate through this? Has this happen to anyone? How were you able to solve it? Please help a sister out. Thank you. |

Wokeupandslayed:Hello. Don't derail out of your FormI-20 annotations. If your uncle has disappointed you then you have to look for the best alternative. Look for the bank statement to the tune of the deficit ($2,748) . I can be of assistance in this aspect . If you do otherwise you would have compromised your Form I-20 info. Good LucK. |

You can finalize your new DS-160 form and send the confirmation page as requested. Once your DS-160 confirmation number has been updated by the AVITS team. It will reflect on your appointment which you can reprint. Might take like 48 business hours to be updated, so ensure you have enough time and more days ahead of your interview date. Firstlady999: |

Firstlady999:Hi Firstlady999. Fill another ds-160 entirely. After that login to your AVITS profile and open a ticket (attach your new ds-160 by asking the US embassy to update your new ds-160). After 2-days login to your AVITS profile and re-print your visa appointment letter. By this, you will notice your new ds-160 confirmation number inside your new printed visa appointment letter (automatic update). Attend your interview with the new ds-160 confirmation and the new printed appointment letter . Good LucK. |

\Hello guys I got my visa approved last week Tuesday.. but I am yet to get an info on my passport pick up.. How long does this typically take? (There was public holiday monday and tuesday tho) |

It is advisable to present your account statement for the deficit in either of your parents' names rather than an uncle or any other external family member. This approach will make it easier for you to defend at the embassy. I can further assist you with this if needed. Wokeupandslayed: |

Wokeupandslayed:Use your bank statements with the amount as deficit.. You don't know what questions you would be asked. Besides it's better to say your deficit is covered by you. At least it's just over $2k. Thats better than claiming an uncle paid for your own Masters program. In light of the real expenses you will have studying 2k is small |

Taal17:thank you so much for responding. I just have a little question, will it be weird that the money was just put in my savings ? Also, would it be sketchy again if I have let’s say 5k dollars or 4k dollars in account ? Like the equivalent of 4k or 5k dollars in naira. |

Wokeupandslayed:It's your university that's you're sending the statement to for your i20. Not US consulate Embassy isn't going to see it neither wiill they ask for it for F1 visa appointment. You visa approval or denial is done right there.. I think you are overthinking it. You've done most of the heavy lifting your tuition etc is mostly covered. Besides 2k plus is just about 3million, that's not all lot of cash. That's like your ticket money. |

Taal17:okay thank you so much. I joined this thread after getting my admission and funding, I read through the entire thread and a large percentage is getting denied visa. So I’m trying not to make mistake at all. I will deposit a specific amount in my savings account then. And then go from there. Thank you for your assistance! I really appreciate |
| Re: General USA Student Visa Enquiries-part 18 by Taal17: 8:16pm On Apr 03, 2025 |
Wokeupandslayed:Don't approach this thinking of denials. In this reading you did from this same threads, because there have been many, people got approved, others denied reapplied then got approved. Fix your eyes focus your thoughts on the result you want. |
| Re: General USA Student Visa Enquiries-part 18 by LCMedia(m): 8:54pm On Apr 03, 2025 |
Wokeupandslayed:How long have you been working? Besides, your deficit is just over 2k, that’s what you’d be projecting to the VO, that you’d be covering your 2k deficit from your personal savings. So, you are not disclosing your account balance to the VO and your school won’t care how you got the 5k in your account as long as it’s in the account statement presented to them. |

Good evening house, I am trying to make my visa fee payment, but I keep receiving an error message stating, “Something went wrong.” I have attempted multiple times, but the issue persists. Could someone please assist me in resolving this issue? |
| Re: General USA Student Visa Enquiries-part 18 by Efetobore1980(m): 11:30pm On Apr 03, 2025 |
Peachgirl:Evening. Click on pending appointment after logging into your avits profile and delete the pending appointment. Then start all over again. Choose bank deposit instead of Card paynent and visit any first bank to pay your MRV. Good LucK. |

LCMedia:Okay thank you so much. I thought they usually check this type of things, when I tried applying for a visa in 2015 an agent told me to keep 10,000 pounds (2 million) in my account for about moths which I did. Also, ive been working for 3 years now. But i will put money in my account and use the bank statement in my I-20 |
