Do you really expect drivers to say they'll pay 100k weekly for rentals?

The same drivers who make a million monthly still expect car owners—who are responsible for repairs—to settle for just 120k per month?

This is one of the conditions for rentals, so it isn't new

okay, I will take anyone solely from you to deliver 40k weekly while the person takes charge of all maintenance, you will use your car to stand as collateral for the person and if the person damage the car without fixing it, I will take ownership of your car...

Trust my word, I will do this only for you.

Drivers take care of maintenance on rentals now?
Re: If You Are Uber Partner In Lagos, Please Share Your Experience Here by Obedibombedi: 9:40pm On Apr 03, 2025
I feel e-hailing was poised to serve sole proprietors.

However, Driver-partners and vehicle owners must make compromising decisions for smooth partnership.

There are Driver-partners that still pay 25k rental fee weekly.

E-hailing filled a massive unemployment gap.

Have you done rentals before or just HP? Cos I know that owners don't do maintenance solely

I don't have anyone interested and even if I do, I don't do guarantors for people. These conditions aren't the prob, it's the theft

Is 50k for maintenance even realistic?
Or doesn't the maintenance include repairs and servicing?
Well, you know it's just a month!
Maintenance varies. You can spend more in some month and you can spend less in some month!
I have done maybe two or three trips this year and I notice I have done like 150k on maintenance..I spend more on maintenance when am not driving!
Have been traveling in and out of Lagos and anytime am back, I'll have to fix one thing in the car, even though the car was perfect when I left....am sure some full time driver may have spent less, so it varies. You can't really put a figure to it.... Some times, my car would serve me for 6-8 month stretch with just oil change and sometimes in just a month, I'll visit mech, rewire, panel, painter, just name it!

I'm planning to restart the business with a focus on rentals, I currently own three cars, since I work remotely and rarely drive, I don't need at least one of them for now.

However, the 30k weekly remittance is nothing to get excited about, especially since owners are responsible for most of the repairs.

I go just keep my cars jejely

That means you haven't done rentals before. Your question came as though you've done rentals before.

I did rentals around 2013/14 or so and the condition based on maintenance was shared btw me and the owner and I think I did most.

My trip from Genesis GRA-PH to airport was 20k and the trip lasted for about 45 to 50mins; while Lagos airport to Dolphin was crazy. Drivers were demanding for 20k.. I decided to take a walk outside towards AP station before we could get one for 13k...
Omoapena that is asking for 8k per day knows what's he's doing...Driver maybe able to pay 7-8k per day but be unable to pay 8k*7= 56k.
It's btw 6 and half a dozen!

And yes, I don tey for the hustle but unfortunately I no fit buy car because I get plenty responsibilities and it's been there since I started 9-5 and I'm glad I could be there for them.

the truth is, drivers know that 8k per day is very easy to get, with round trip of mainland to island and back to mainland on bolt, 8k is certain excluding other expenses, but you know people, to pay 56k at once in a week will sound much in their ears and that's because many drivers are just bad in savings and planning.

reason for the daily remittance.

I don't even understand all this una rentals angry. Why would I collect 35k/week when I make that much virtually everyday?
Even on a very dry day, I must still go home with at least 25k after 9-10hrs on the road. And I do all my trips online; I hardly ever cancel trips.

Some people will always have obstacles in their life because of the obstacles they put in other people's life until they repent and apologize publicly.
U intentionally stand in people's way to progress and change and think ur own life will progress? Na lie.
You and your cohorts; Una go chi chomchin.
Except u have always been lying that u are in d business, cos everybody in this business knows that there has always been money in ehailing, even on it's worst days, u are better of than a Senior staff in civil service. But if u are in this business and u lie and deceive people that it is not profitable thereby discouraging others then u will get your reward.
Baba, I don't understand this talk of ehailing dying. The only reason, as of today, I'm not making over a million monthly on ehailing is because as I restrict my driving hours to certain period, and other commitments that often pop up and take my way from ehailing for days or weeks.
I drove for 6 days straight—before the present commitment that has taken away from ehailing for over a week now, and I'd already made over 240k.
Perhaps they're discouraging potential drivers to forestall the saturation of the business, just maybe.

U no dey taya o! U still dey on top this matter!

That guy na night crawler. Asides the arrogant fellow, someone doing day should post dashboard too.(March)

What some of us are trying to prove is that the hustle isn't juicy like before again. We are not discouraging anybody
I still dey d matter o.
Shey if I post una go say na only me they make am. I don leave the field for other people to show workings.
I know many people here no dey like post but they are killing it out there daily. But will rather remain silent.
U also know if not for ur type of car, and work style u did take home a lot more.
But there are people making a lot, and still for some reason will rather talk down on d hustle rather than praise it. Those are the people I am after not u.

I'm not a clown. I'm only saying what I know.....maybe it has changed now, I do not know. I have driven someone's car before, years back and I didn't pay any commitment fee. 35k is what I see people do weekly. Moreover, you don't just give out your car to a stranger. You need to know the person very well and do verification. What exactly is the essence of the 100k commitment? Theft? Damage?

To crown it all, it is your car, so you decide how you want the deal to go! I'm only advising, and if I have a spare car, I would be glad to give it to you for 6k daily, and that's if you will be the one to drive it personally
I beg u in the name of God, don't give ur car out to anybody without collecting deposit.
Except it's ur brother/sister or very close friend. If u like collect 20k as weekly rental but u see that deposit, don't do without it.
