JP Morgan is advancing plans to transform its Lagos representative office into a fully-fledged business branch as part of a broader strategy to expand its presence across Africa.

Lol. Someone begin an emergency search for Kettykin and his bitterly hateful IPOB co-travellers always predicting doom and gloom for Lagos.

Another massive positive for Lagos and endorsement showing multi-national businesses, including one of the biggest financial services player in the world, regard Lagos as a destination of choice in Africa let alone within Nigeria.

This is possible heart-attack level news for Kettykin and co. Search and rescue mission volunteers pleeeaaaasssseee. 😅😅😅😎😎😎

Some people see the opposite. I am beginning to think that some people will have nothing good to say about Nigeria even if we become one of the leading economies in the world.

Of course. Especially those who see nothing good about Nigeria and never will unless one of their own is in charge.

Tinubu is doing what no other President has done since our current democracy began in 1999. If I had my ways, he would do three term.

According to Africa Intelligence, the US bank, which has operated in Nigeria since the 1980s, intends to apply to the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) for a merchant banking license in the coming months.
The New York-based financial institution, managed in Nigeria by Dayo Olagunju, seeks to enhance its service offerings beyond advisory and asset management to include dollar loans for large companies.

In mid-October, CEO Jamie Dimon visited Nigeria and met with CBN Governor Olayemi Cardoso. Dimon’s African tour also included South Africa, where JP Morgan maintains a subsidiary, and Kenya. Before this trip, Dimon stated to Reuters his intention to establish or strengthen the bank’s African presence by expanding into additional countries every few years.

Acidiosis will soon come with some Becomerich era screenshot to wail about how Tinubu bribed JP Morgan to invest in Nigeria and how the investment will not affect the price of half bag of rice 🤣🤣🤣

I see, a lot of people here are extremely stupid. Every event and incident is politicised. It's shameful how my beloved country has been reduced to tribal bigotry and toxic politics.

Tinubu has no capacity to bribe JP Morgan. I believe it's the banks perception of the Nigerian market that is driving the move. Nigeria has huge market so it makes sense if JP expands it's presence.

Acidosis will tell you there is no huge market potential in Nigeria because he cannot afford a half bag of rice. He will support it with a screenshot from 1999 just like becomerich 🤣🤣

You no just get shame. Over 10 productive international companies with large workforce left the country. In turn, 1 existing international bank in Lagos simply expanded its scope of operations in a strategic move, and you're dancing everywhere online?

Again, is it not a statement of fact that many Nigerians cannot buy half bags of rice without grumbling and groaning hard? Do you think JP Morgan is coming for poor depositors like you and I? You think they're coming here to fight for our 2k account balance with Opay and Palmpay? I hope you show the next corporate beggar around you this news for maximum satisfaction.
