Most businesses are going through multiple taxation in Nigeria especially FCT. Environmental, fumigation, certification of fitness of your premises, tenement rate, sign board, television tax all under the council areas. Then you pay to FCT HHSS, pay annual license of your private facility to your regulatory council, pay your personal license, pay for your professional development etc. The worse is the local government people that extort money without carrying out the fumigation, or the certificate of fitness without doing anything or environmental that extort money without carrying out the waste. There has to be a way to regulate these multiple taxation in order to encourage small scale businesses.

No farmer in USA or Europe is worth $700m. Not to mention Nigeria.
You are talking about farmers who farm maize, groundnuts or even poultry. Where will they see $700m. It's usually between $50 to 300m

These are signs that investing in Nigeria especially agriculture isn’t all that safe giving to the fact of rampaging herdsmen and destruction of farmlands.


The report says through his Agro Allied Business. He could have shareholders and investors. The money necessarily doesn’t have to be his.

That was the part I responded to in my previous post where I pointed out to you that even if he had 100 shareholders, he is still the majority shareholder. So where did he get the money even if his share is just 50mn?

The issues of insecurities on the farm that the political, traditional and elite class seems not to be interested is a major cause.

Remembered few years ago when we left school, a friend served in NB at ibadan during his NYSV, one of the top executives gave him a special seeds of maize to plant, that Nigeria brewery will buy them after harvest. He tried his luck on about 5plots of land for like two years. He became a big shot from farming. The 3rd year, he ventured into more large scale by borrowing money, acquired more hecters of land in Ekiti state. He even planted special plantain suckered worthy millions.

Behold aboki carry cow enter this farm. Within a day the whole farm turned to desert. This is more than 15yrs, this guy never recovered.

How do you know he’s the majority shareholder? Is his company listed on the Nigerian Stock Market? Are you a shareholder or investor to have such knowledge of him being highest shareholder?

can u farm or invest in farming currently with fulani? My uncle a multi billion farmer and a retired military man like obj was killed on Tuesday by fulani. They shot at his leg, he was running to his car to pick his gun, they ran after him and used cutlass on his head. No sensible person want to invest in farm in Nigeria with fulani acting above the law
