Those tariffs aren't real. Trump literally came up with his own dumb math to justify them and you all swallowed it but he loves the poorly educated so I'm not surprised and stats shows that republicans are less educated compared to Dems
How did you come to the conclusion that d tariffs weren't real? Would you mind share the tariff of some of the countries you so know about and compare with what usa posted?

Why don't you calm down and learn bros. The guy was teaching you because you're getting it all wrong. About 4 months ago, I pay 2k on 20k worth of goods from China, now the tariff on 20k goods is $13,400. My consumers are complaining that my goods are very expensive because I pass the cost to them. The tariff doesn't hurt China because the price of the goods is the same. The tariff hurts US consumers.

Cars are expensive in Nigeria because of the tariffs on cars by the Nigerian government. The Nigerian consumers bear the burden. The same applies to all countries.
How about goods imported by the Chinese, who bears the tariff? Isn't it their consumers? Everyone will get hurt.

1. several countries does not mean "all countries".

2. will the US consumers and manufacturers be affected by these losses?

3. bro, apart from china, canada and mexico, how is the US the biggest market for the other countries?

is mexico not 77% instead of 80%?

does the US not make considerable exports to these countries?

4. does the US also import Aricuktjral produce, automobile, chemicals, machinery, automobiles, aircraft, and their parts etc.?

what are the tariffs the US imposes for these imports?
To answer you simply, in the US's trade with other countries, who records more trade surplus?

See bro, I totally understand. I'm a business major and I know all about tariffs, b.o.t and trade protectionism. The tariffs you're talking about, at the end of the day, would be paid by the Americans themselves, not even China. The only benefit they'd derive is in the long run cos introducing tariffs, which leads to an increase in the cost of imported goods, doesn't automatically mean that local alternatives would be sought, especially if the price and quality is comparable (assuming there are even local alternatives for those imported goods).

The fact is that the US, under Trump, use their own economic standpoint (in light of their economic aspirations) as a yardstick for key decisions and they don't want to know if other countries are ok with it or not - this is in fact what Trump has been doing.

Another thing is Trump's modus operandi, he is too arrogant and doesn't engage in diplomacy when making decisions. The EU, China and NAFTA countries aren't insane to allow them to walk over them just like that. International trade is a blend of business and politics, some things are just not acceptable.
Who will pay for the tariff China would impose on US exports? Their citizens of cause.

undecided just because people avoid fighting u, doesn't mean they ain't strong enough to kick ur a##, small Vietnam sef gave U.S a bloody nose. Big countries avoid confronting each other because they fit nuke each other if things escalate! Not because they are afraid of fighting
That doesn’t give them the right to useless other ooor countries.

which of my questions asked you about father christmas?

who asked the US to give in the first place?

from all that the US was giving, was it giving because it loved the beneficiaries of its generosity?
Look at the bold part of your question and read my response again, unless you have a brain defect, my response should be sufficient!

Whether generosity or annimosity, the new president is correcting the mistakes......We are saying the same thing, let the US focus more at home, the world does not need a father christmas!

You're right. Tariffs imposed by the Chinese govt will be borne by the Chinese. The advantage they have is they depend less on the US. I hope you get it.

Even if other countries doesn't retaliate China must retaliate.

Trust them to issue retaliatory tariffs soon.

Listen up dum dum, nobody asked, they just felt like being cheerful givers and policing the world hence the father christmas reference. Now do you get it? Trump is correcting that error and asking the country to look inwards rather than continuing these charities that NOBODY asked for which brings us to my generosity or annimosity reference.......Let me know if I can dumb it down for you some more!

Don't forget it's business for the companies that import US goods. More like Nigerians who import used US cars, when tariffs go hard, their business may fail.

Either way, everyone will bear so much pain.

But Trump is the head of government of US. However it's still possible it wasn't real since u said it's came from him directly instead of the US customs

I do not forget the debt. It was not relevant to the point I was making which was very long already
America does not BORROW TO IMPORT and this has nothing to do with Debt it is about trade
It is a TAX ON AMERICANS
Long story short American debt is totally irrelevant to the discussion and tariffs will simply force the world to rethink the use of the US dollar
Without the dollar the US cannot consume as much as it does which is the fundamental point you have failed to grasp
What Trump WANTS and reality is very different

Is he going to force the production of Bananas and coffee to America?

There are a whole list of product that CANNOT be made in America and many are such low value items that will be uneconomic to make at American wages e,g Tshirts or jeans. NOT EVERYTHING can be made in America and not every nation can afford to buy from America so a more selective use of tariffs would make more sense

Regarding high value products Those countries that make them e.g China with Electric cars are in a position to retaliate.

The idea that tariffs will move manufacturing to the US is really quite childish

Building a factory for the cost of $10 billion is a major decision for any business and they won't make such a decision when dealing with an unpredictable narcissist like Trump
America is able to fund it's flamboyant excessive consumerism via DEBT. The truth is America cannot afford it's lifestyle except thru debt.

So debt is what is fuelling the trade deficit. Americans are borrowing to pay for imported products. Let's not even talk about the dubious quantitative easing- printing money out of nothing.

I agree with U tariff should be selective and this is an area I disagree with Trump.

But to say this trade deficit shouldn't be addressed, I beg to disagree.

America even fears China more than Russia
Why then is it undermining China at any given chance if it care less, it cares a great deal what china does.

Why is US taking over Panama canal, fear of china dominance in south America.
When I say Father Christmas, I mean becoming a importing consumer country
