It's a pity that obasanjo saved over 45 billion in just 8 years, paid over 15 billion in total debt then in addition left over 25 billion in excess crude.

All these are the very reason there is suffering in the land, they squandered all money and are shouting no funds to subsidies fuel.

Here in the UK public transport is cheap and is subsidies heavily. I can travel 300 hundred times between two or three cities or even the region for just 2 pounds. Just get the tick and continue using for 12hrs

Will you STFU, we're talking external reserves and this Illiterate keep bringing up ECA. Oil prices were reasonably high during his regime with little to no oil pipeline vandalism, which explain why he was able to leave $20b in ECA reserves.

How much was oil price from 1999 to 2007?
Oil price was as low as 13 dollar per barrel at 1999 and only grew to 70 dollar at 2007. Buhari and Tinubu that is the APC Regimes enjoyed higher revenues from oil that what Obj could get

In fact in 2022 the Brent oil sold for over 120 per barrel. When oil was selling for over 80 dollars per barrel Buhari was busy trying to get secure about 30 billion dollar loan but the Senate under Bukola sarki rejected and faulted the move. The then Ekiti state government went to china to deliver a warning for the lenders to decline the loan

Look at OBJ, after Paris club gave us debt relief, he still ended up collecting another loan, leaving behind behind another $3billon debt .



Tinubu will not bring down anything to 800 or 80 naira, market forces will continue to determine the true value.

$30billion not $20billion and we paid off $12billion. He didn't reduce it, it was a relief/cancellation. The $3billion was still in the books as external debts.

Yaradua reduced our debt from 20B to 3.5B within a few months in 2007 even when there was drop on oil production due to the Niger-Delta crisis . Umar Musa Yaradua is the best president Nigeria ever had.. if not for death Nigeria might have been among top 10 world economy and the richest in Africa and APC calamity won't happen. GEJ fvckup big time by not building upon Yaradua manifesto.
It took Yaradua a few months to clear the mess of IBB+ Abacha + OBJ. While it's taking APC like forever to at least return the economy to where they met it if they can move us forward

Yar adua inherited $3bn he did not reduce any debt, neither did he take any!

We had 20B debt as at March 2007 and Yaradua was sworn in around then and by 2007 DEC our debt is 3B . Though OBJ tried by at least clearing our debt to crown it all PDP is way better at managing Nigeria economy unlike APC whereby our debt keeps growing with nothing to show for it
