USA has the largest economy in the world. Followed by the EU and China. USA previously encouraged trade with most countries, so many countries have economies that are intertwined with the US.

Countries can do without the US but it will take time to adjust their supply chains and seek partners elsewhere to make up for the trade lost from the US. Even with that, there would still be a gap because of how large the US economy is.

The US does need international trade though. They can't survive without it. They don't produce everything their country needs.

I...USA is producing locally..they produce goods and services..they have companies and industries foreign and indigenous investors and industries..a country cannot live in isolation..a country cannot be an island... USA or no country can produce everything...every goods in this world..that is why we have international trade and international businesses... countries must mingle and work together in production and supply of goods and services between each other.. USA cannot produce everything..it still needs some good and raw materials to be imported into USA because you cannot produce everything..no country can produce or manufacture everything or every goods and services by itself..a country cannot be in isolation or an island.. that international trade and businesses is still necessary
