Quick Test: Are You Sure You Can Answer This ₦‎500,000 Question? by omofeyi(op): 7:56am On Apr 06, 2025
So I came across this new show called Jeez Millionaire Show on TikTok, and it instantly caught my attention. In one episode, a lady was asked the question: "What is the actual meaning of illiterate?"

In Nigeria, we throw that word around a lot often incorrectly. I used to think my mom was an illiterate, but after watching that clip and reading the proper definition, I realized she actually isn’t.

Funny enough, the lady on the show got the ₦500,000 question wrong and honestly, I probably would’ve too. The options were kind of tricky.

Watch the short video below and let us know what you think!

Illiteratecy simply means being a novice on a particular matter, or something.

Not necessarily being unlettered

The answer is B, that is not being able to read and write in English or any Language. I believe that a person who can read and write in his lingua franca should be considered literate. I stand to be corrected.

Cannot read or write in anything. Simple answer.
That's how alot of abokis are stereotyped because they can't write or speak English, but are well versed in Arabic Ajami. Misconceptions.

C cannot be the answer...

You don't necessarily need formal education to be able to read and write.

Formal education means going to a structured environment to learn...like Schools.

There are many people that were home schooled...and doesn't learn from any structured curriculum

Any body that have gone through school and still Voted for Tinubu is a bloody illiterate

just kidding grin

The current definition of illiterate is archaic.

This is 2025 where children of 6 years can read and write.

Now, Illiteracy is the inability to learn, unlearn and relearn.
Re: Quick Test: Are You Sure You Can Answer This ₦‎500,000 Question? by BiGVEEN58(m): 4:44pm On Apr 06, 2025
First remove all options with 'English' in them because speaking or writing in English has nothing to do with being a literate or intelligence.
Then remove 'C' because you don't need formal education to be able to read and write.
And lastly remove 'D' because it's easily the wrongest option grin

The answer to that question in that picture is "B." Can't read and write. Sugarcoating more options which look like real answer would make few fail it and many of dumb fish brains fail it too.

You just explained the term "uneducated" bro. You don't have to be literate to be educated. Educated means leaning something, good and smart in it. It's not compulsory that you can write or read in that discipline.
