Ogun state should be on the list .
Strategically located close to Lagos and developing at a steady pace .
I actually have a place at Ogun ,while working in Lagos .
It makes sense to me .
When I want to escape the hustle and bustle of Lagos life , I just cross over to the serenity of Ogun state.

I was in Benin in January.

It's a big city, but every where I looked was rough and quite dilapidated. I went to the famous GRA, it wasn't much to write home about. The city just looked depressing.

I really wanted the Benin I had heard so much about and romanticised about in my head since my days as a young boy studying history to be a mesmerising place.

Alas, it wasn't. At least not at the time I visited.

May be I am being unfair to Benin, as I was only there for 2 days.

That list is Okay, just remove Portharcourt and replace it with Calabar and it's perfect.
Portharcourt is becoming increasingly similar to Lagos with its high cost of living and traffic wahala.

Ibadan on the other hand is quiet but then it's not where someone who wants to attain their full potential should be. If Ur okay with just surviving and staying simple then by all means.

That would depend on the business you do. Some are in the same ibadan, raking millions from their quarter plot of land small poultry business

You guys that never travelled before don't know how good and nice ibadan city is. You think because of what your ipob brothers are posting online that ibadan is not a good and nice place. Come to ibadan and u will marvel at the level of development there. No city can rival ibadan in Nigeria except lagos and Abuja in term of infrastructure.

You are truly tribalistic and I don't blame u. It's in your DNA. Enugu that has no potable water. Enugu that people are queue to get water on daily basis is what u termed a decent city. Enugu where the cost of living is very high to the extent that people are calling on government on daily basis. LOL... very funny, but you make a good point. Before anyone thinks of leaving Lagos to the other cities, you need sufficient funds cos other cities cannot offer 20% of the job opportunities that you'd find in Lagos.

I think it's travesty to say Ibadan is the third largest city in Nigeria. Ibadan tht I know is the biggest in Nigeria in terms of land mass. I been to Ibadan,Lagos and kano. Ibadan is bigger than both .

The fortunate thing is, other cities are now changing their infrastructures rapidly to advanced and cutting edge ones, like in Enugu which has almost the same ambience as Abuja and even more urbane than Abuja with its literate inhabitants.

It's not even Ronu heaven but the OPONU OSU miscreants own....Na dem dey obsess with relocating to Lagos.

Their is a reason why Ibadan is more populated and generate more VATS than those cities you listed!....you are even mentioning EBONYI and ASABA of yesterday.

IBADAN is so peaceful you Will think all is well with Nigeria till you visit markets or stores..... The development is incredible kudos to engr seyi makinde....

People saying Ibadan is dirty... That's old Ibadan o.... Infact there are laws preventing littering or improper refuse disposal now... If you are caught... Straight 3 month in jail or fine


Infrastructure too is Nice... The increase in population is giving rise to more buildings and New areas/estate or remodeling of Old structures... Most of the Old structures around eleyele have been bought and remodeled into new building with latest designs


Night Life in Ibadan now is now awesome thank to seyi makinde light up Ibadan initiative even up to inner Streets

Security wise Ibadan is stable and secure... Just don't wander into the slums... Mind your business and nobody will bother you

Uyo is like a local government of the 20 in Lagos and of the 11 in Ibadan alone.

Uyo may be finer than some LG in those places.Not all!
