Fubara by himself owned up to not having the charisma to be a governor. There were others who had interest to contest. But Wike in order to protect Fubara from being arrested impressed it on him to contest.
Wike told others who had interest to shield their interest and be made commissioners. They all accepted and went to their various constituencies to deliver Fubara. Do you know what it took to deliver Fubara when ipobidients gathered against Wike? There was Tonye Cole ably supported by Ijaw group as a 'true' Ijaw son.
Fubara is not only an ingrate but dunderheaded.

While I agree with wike that it was actually too early for the now Axed Fubara to show his true colors, it is also wrong for wike to treat him in that manner. For God's sakes, how many of Wike's predecessors subjected him to such? Wike picked all of FUBARA's commissioners, handpicked all FUBARA's appointees such as to be in control of FUBARA's govt. Then he wanted to be getting his percentage from Rivers monthly subvention. Wike isn't fair to FUBARA, but if I was fubara, I wouldn't have acted so fast. Politics is about tactics

Go ask fashola how his first term went after succeeding tinubu in 2007.....he didn't even have any member in his ward exco let alone commissioners.....but he was strategic and wise enough so as to swim through all the treacherous waters and still kept his name and got the job done.....those are the people fubara should have sought advise from and not the likes of omehia or papa Clark who had already gone senile.....worst of all fubara was coalescence with asari dokubo,now see where his stupidity led him.

So why did he not resign?

I even read somewhere that Gov. Fubara turned in his resignation but Wike did not agree!!!!!

Though, some can say it was more favourable to Wike than to Fubara looking at the way and manner commissioners and all the government house staffs and aids were handpicked by Wike.
But I can tell you that the favour was well shared both ways.
Maybe it was Fubara who did know how to play ball or didn't understand his role to be able to roll along well, if he actually knew his former boss whom he had worked with for years.......

He wanted to incapacitate the governor and at the end who takes the blame of non performance? I remember when OBJ single-handedly and sponsored Yaradua. People were saying Yaradua was OBJ 3rd term. Against all odds, OBJ ensured Yaradua became president. But the moment Yaradua got to the office of Mr president, the first thing he did was to reverse some of the OBJ’s policies he wasn’t comfortable with. Obj did not fight him, he didn’t label him traitors. He allowed him to exercise his rights and power as the president.
