Ok, you never knew during Jonathan's presidency they were the only ones willing to sell weapons to us.

You also do not know their defence contractors helped us to secure the north east so we could have elections in those places. The Nigerian military did not do that before the six weeks Jonathan postponed the election for.
Yes South African defence contractors helped but we did most of the fighting and securing grin

Man1960 asked me how old I am because I said what you at least to an extent, agree with.

Don't you think I'm the one who should be asking how old he is?

Milkor not wasting time!
Returning to the Milkor 380, du Plessis asserted that now that the technology is proven and moving to a production phase, the engineering team responsible for its development has the ability to move on to their new project, the Milkor 780. This high-altitude long endurance UAV project is well underway. The aircraft will weigh 5.5 tons and be capable of carrying over 2 700 kg of payload with a 30-40 hour flight endurance. “Should all go to plan, we will be launching this UAV at AAD 2026,” du Plessis said.

“There are only about eight countries that have officially developed a UAV the size of the Milkor 380, therefore it speaks volumes to the capabilities and innovation that still reside within the country. The question therefore is no longer, ‘is the SADI ready to revitalise the SANDF?’ but, ‘is government ready to fund this revitalisation project?’” du Plessis asked.

Such things are communicated and signed in a trade deal.
So in effect, what you’re implying is that other countries have the right to arbitrarily place tariffs on US goods but US must negotiate without retaliating? How do you negotiate without a leverage?

The problem is that you guys do not understand GOP economic ideology in general. The deal with China that marked the stall phase of the escalating trade war in 2020 had China remove IP demands from some foreign technology companies and make import commitments to U.S.

Orange guy is trying to remove export market limitations for US agriculture and manufacturing, and fight for US footprint in the global market. You can’t purposefully fight U.S. manufacturing because you can’t compete in the service markets. Democrats are against it because it negatively affects consumer prices. Also GOP doesn’t prioritize diplomacy & price stability.

Try to dig into these topics beyond surface liberal news. You may not agree with the ideology. I don’t agree with some, but they are not fools to be doing something that didn’t make any sense.

Think of tariffs as kind of protest. Eventually many parties will come for negotiations and offer deals. They cannot leave the US market.

Never thought a day would come when I’d defend trump like this lol.

Leave the MAGA echo-chamber..... You have no idea what you're talking about.

First example, South Africa has a nearly 7.5% tariff on US products, which was part of the AGOA deal negotiated by the GOP between SA and the US. However, Trump placed a 60% tariff on South Africa, based on what really?

Secondly, a few countries will negotiate, maybe poor Lesotho will, but many countries are going to retaliate with their own tariffs; China has just done so. This will start an international trade war and place the whole global economic system in recession and a new round of high inflation.

Please try another excuse bro.

.... and since you are into the GOP, then here is Reagan arguing and warning against tariffs.

Well done to Truvelo!

New sniper system for SA Army

The Infantry Formation of the SA Army now owns a new “cutting edge sniper rifle system” delivered through Project Tedu.
Acquisition of the system was done by Armscor, which called the mid-March handover at Infantry School in Oudtshoorn “a significant milestone” enhancing precision firepower and operational effectiveness.

General Officer Commanding South Africa Army Infantry Formation, Major General VZ Ngcobo, on behalf of Chief of South Africa Army, Lieutenant General Lawrence Mbatha, is reported as telling those that the handover as a culmination of strict testing, analysis and training that that is seeing to equip soldiers with the necessary knowledge and tools to carry out different missions effectively. The handover reaffirms “dedication to the safety and well-being of those defended”.

defenceWeb understands that Project Tedu covers 12.7 mm, 7.62 mm, and .338 calibre weapons. Photos published by the SANDF and Armscor appear to show Truvelo CMS (Counter Measure Sniper) models of various calibres.

This publication has asked Armscor for technical details of the new sniper system as well as the number to be supplied and over what timeframe.

Am very happy about Trumps tariffs on African countries it's about time Africa stops expecting handout and preferential trade deals. Time for more self-sufficiency and inter-African trade

Sounds good on paper, but it's almost impossible at current state. African countries (in general) have a low purchasing power for a meaningful inter-African trade. Some items produced in Africa cannot even be sold in Africa.

For example, here are some of the vehicles South Africa assembles in large numbers. I do not know of any African market (besides South Africa) that would buy these from our factories.

Trumpturds in 2024 : Trump will fix the economy, the stock exchange will grow, and food prices will be low on his first day in office.

*** Trump crashes the economy in his first 100 days in office, shrinks 401k savings, food prices rise, and inflation is expected to grow by double digits in the first year.

Trumpturds now: You guys don't understand the master plan.

Sounds exactly like cult people when questioned about their doomsday prediction when it doesn't come to pass.
Trump tarrifs aren't even reciprocal they are trade deficit divided by imposed tariffs, SA doesn't even come close to tarrifing 60% on US imports I believe we average around 10% and now we are being tarrifed @ 30%

Any as I've mentioned before choosing sides and calling names like trumpturds or libtards doesn't scream intelligence stay logical, dont be an ideologue.

🇺🇸🛢📉 Oil -$15/Barrel since Liberation Day.

The best O&G companies in the country are $50/Breakeven.

We’re at $57 right now.

A few more days of this, and we’re going to be getting layoffs in Texas, North Dakota, Alaska, and New Mexico immediately.

You don't buy new cars, you don't have the money.

Nigeria 🇳🇬 bought about only 13 000 new cars in 2023
South Africa 🇿🇦 bought about 532 000 new cars in the same year.

Also the devil is in the details for a lot of these tariff issues. Most tariffs in Singapore will be targeted at goods from secondary sectors dependent on Chinese supply chains.
