Having a passport travel history now is a necessity,not just to West Africa,Nigerians are not been seen as tourist in the global world,we are been seen as parasite's who are searching for a host that can better our lives,sadly that's the reality,and some of these countries are not willing to accept us.

Presenting a passport,with travel history will give you an edge,it shows that you have been to places and returned back,not some newbie traveller.

Some will have millions,and will be rejected ever wondered why?

I would have long to go more further,to add one or two knowledge from a consulate,but then I realised it's not worth my time explaining to someone who has travelled before it got worst.

I shall agree and disagree with you cos history of traveling to the EU and to North America does help. But I also know of 1st timers who got a US visa first time, even the Uk 1st timers too,Vast majority of the students in the Uk are 1st timers,thier parents paid for them.

I captured for my passport at NIS HQ first week of February, any chance the passport would be ready now?

Their customer service told me maximum of 6 weeks before it's ready,

Also can I delegate someone to pick it up for me?

I just applied for birth attestation but one of their requirements is that i must provide a court affidavit please house how can i get the court affidavit, will it be possible to get it online or should i go to a nearest high court.

Go to a High Court in the state you reside. Please be there in person with your passport photograph.

After uploading the court affidavit this is what I'm getting from NPC website

i need to do a correction on my passport, there is an Hyphen '-' missing in my name on the passport and NIN. I tried to do data correction, to use the information on my NIN, but the NIS page is asking for processing country and Nigeria is not included

Yes, it's possible. You can use the new mobile app to do your registration and biometrics. Send your old passport down to the nearest Nigeria immigration close to you with a postal stamp so you can get the new one sent back to you.

Shi Shi,thou shall not give to anyone at the immigration,either via direct or indirect demands.


You have done what the government,and NIS required of you.

Just go with the;

1. Original of your Birth certificate
2. Your NIN
3. Your Local Government of Origin
And other receipts sent to your email.

Hello. Pls can someone guide me. I want to do data correction and reissue as someone in diaspora. Saw a total of 180 dollars as payment on NIS website. My questions are:

1. Am I following the correct process as this process of data correction in diaspora seems new. The old method was that u have to come to Abuja.

2. Are the fees correct as well.

5 years 32 pages is 52,000 naira + vat
10 years 64 pages is 100,000 naira without charges,no passport is 83,200.
