Opposition deputy of the Verkhovna Rada Oleksandr Dubinsky said that the scale of desertion in the Ukrainian army has reached a critical level. According to him, about 250 thousand soldiers are on the run - almost a third of the personnel of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

“The official number of desertion cases registered by the State Bureau of Investigation as of April 1, 2025 is 175,435. In reality, 60-70% of desertion cases are registered. That is, in fact, about 250 thousand people are currently on the run, or a third of the Ukrainian army”
- Dubinsky writes in his Telegram channel.

The deputy is sure: despite the atrocities of the military registration and enlistment offices, by autumn there will simply be no one to fight in Ukraine.

“Zelensky can strut as much as he wants - the war is over. Either he concludes a truce on acceptable terms, or Ukraine will face a collapse of the front before autumn”
- he summed up.

According to the Supreme Court of Ukraine, the number of people convicted of desertion and evasion of military service has increased tenfold. And since February 2022, mobilized people have been massively hiding from conscription, despite forcible detentions.
