That verse says don't follow the crowd for evil ends. Jehovah's witnesses turn it to anything that has a lot of crowd following has an evil end but when we read the scripture the other way you can follow two or three person too for bad end. That people are many and doing a thing don't make it bad or evil all the time.

Armed to the teeth robbers or dare devil suicide bombers are not a crowd. They most of the time are less than ten. Yet they cause havoc that even a crowd won't perpetrate.

I don't think you understand what that verse is talking about.
Your case would be like that of the people who do things in public so that they would be praised by people.
Matthew chapter 6 verse 1.
Make certain you do not perform your religious duties in public so that people will see what you do. If you do these things publicly, you will not have any rewards from your father in heaven".

And also the doctrines that you follow does not bear good fruit rather it produces wrong interpretation of the word of God and may lead people astray.
There are a lot of wrong teachings in your doctrine which are what people are pointing out and you people publicly conduct yourselves in a way that seemed civil and good in other to propagate those false teachings and Jesus has this to say about that behaviour

Theirs is a false doctrine that was derived from Arianism. It was because of their fake doctrines that the early church fathers had to convene the council of Niceae to decide the true Nature of Christ and to begin the collation of the scriptures into a single book (Bible).
