250k job in mainland vs 600k in island

Please for a person living in beger mainland. What advice will you give him .. there are many factors I need to consider someone told me I should not go to highland if I don't want to die young that it is very risky to work in highland because of flood and stress...

That was a mistake I was in an hurry when typing.. but thanks for the correction. I really appreciate

If you are still single, then i will advise you go for the island job. Reason being that you can always find an alternative on where to pass the night on the island and maybe come back to the mainland on weekends. This will help reduce transportation fare and the stress of moving to and fro.


Island will present you with a bigger career opportunities and expose you to bigger contacts on the long run.

nobody is dying in island as a result of going to work.

The difference is more than significant.... If u go island, assuming u spend 200k on transport, which woukd likely be less, u will still have 400k to play with....

With 250k on the main land....unless the job is near your house u can't spend less than 30-40k on transport.....ur purchasing power will just be around 200k...

So....unless the mainland job has runs that u'll be making extra 200k plus... the island make sense from a net income perspective at month end

I guess not everyone has folks in places like Exxon, LNG, Schlumberger, where entry level engineers earn as high aa15M per year.....

but most pple get family member in the banking industry....and ordinary ABO which is second level in most banks don't earn less than 600k..

I've seen pay slip of monitoring and evaluation officer with an NGO called Impact water...not manager oo...nigga takes home 550k

I work in Telecoms. Finance department. 40 per cent of staff earn above 600k.

Lol. I rejected offer of 670k net last month just because they're not ready to meet my demand and this coy is just a real estate firm on the Island.
That figure just look big but purchasing power is very low, thanks to hyperinflation created by economic policy of renowned APC economic wizard in power. Few years ago, I didn't believe people earn in millions until I changed my environment and that discouraged me to take lecturing job due to poor renumeration of lecturers.
