A chieftain of the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC, Ambassador Abayomi Nurain Mumuni, has declared that none of the current opposition political parties in the country has the structure to defeat President Bola Tinubu in 2027.


Mumuni made this disclosure in a statement issued on Friday.

The statement was made available to DAILY POST through his media aide, Rasheed Abubakar.


The APC chieftain, in the statement, noted that the current reality shows that, at present, there are no opposition parties with the viable structures necessary to mount a serious challenge to President Bola Tinubu in 2027.

He said that although the political framework in Nigeria is complex, it is evident that many opposition parties lack the cohesive organization and resources required to effectively contest the presidency in 2027.

Mumuni, while speaking further, maintained that the absence of a united front and clear policies that resonate with voters poses significant challenges for opposition political parties ahead of 2027.


He added that no incumbent president has been easily unseated without a robust, organized, and coordinated opposition.

He also disclosed that without the necessary structures and strategies in place, it will be very difficult to defeat Tinubu in 2027.

“The reality we face is one where, at present, there are no opposition parties with the viable structures necessary to mount a serious challenge to President Bola Tinubu’s administration.


“The political framework in Nigeria is complex. However, it is evident that many opposition parties lack the cohesive organization and resources required to effectively contest the presidency. The absence of a united front and clear policies that resonate with voters poses significant challenges.

“Historically, successful opposition movements have required not only robust grassroots structures but also a synergy of purpose and vision. We must acknowledge that the current opposition parties struggle to engage and mobilize their bases effectively, which begs the question of their capability to launch a formidable challenge in 2027.

“The Nigerian electorate is discerning and has demonstrated a willingness to support leaders who instill confidence and reliability. Our lack of visibility and failures to cultivate trust among the populace have created an uphill battle against the incumbency advantage.


“No incumbent president has been easily unseated without a robust, organized, and coordinated opposition. President Tinubu has established a solid foundation and continues to build upon it. Without the necessary structures and strategies in place, displacing him in 2027 could very well be a walkover.

“Given these dynamics, it may be prudent for all political gladiators to consider working alongside the president for the time being. Collaboration does not equate to submission; rather, it indicates a strategic maneuver to influence governance positively and prepare to regroup for future competitions.”

Tinubu is a formidable opponent.

Tinubu's only strategy will be rigging and using the courts to stop other parties from fielding candidates, just like he did in Rivers using Magnus Abe and Wike against Amaechi. He has no other pathway to re-election. This is because 5.6m of his 8.3m total in 2023 was from the North. Meanwhile, Atiku has barely lost a single voter and is now set to improve upon his 2023 margin with his alliance with El-Rufai and the CPC bloc. Tinubu will still get bested by Obi in the South if Obi runs independently. So, where will Tinubu's margins come from outside of the fragmented Southwest?

Agbadorians will soon come with the pathetic "Tinubu is not Jonathan" cliché but Tinubu is also not Buhari. Buhari had 11m organic voters, Tinubu does not. Both Buhari and Jonathan won their region and State convincingly, Tinubu did not. Even if he rigs, he can only rule by consensus. The opposition to his candidacy will be so glaring that rigging will be pointless.

His strategy has not carried the entire South along which is a mistake one can only expect from a rookie. It will be impossible to sell Tinubu as a "Southern candidate" because he truncated a Southsouthern presidency in 2015 and usurped the Southeastern slot in collaboration with the "born-to-rules" in 2023 using a Muslim-Muslim ticket. 2027 will be payback time.

ATIKU, kwankwaso, OBI and El RUFAI must all contest for president in 2027 to show how popular they are against president TINUBU
