Please your professional guidance is seriously needed, I want to study Geology in a reputable institution with a sound background in the course and I don't know which one to choose between the two institutions as mentioned in the headline.

University of Ibadan is the premier university of the British colonialist in Nigeria while UNN is the premier university in Nigeria.

Be that as it may, @OP, the both schools are reputable in the field of geology but I can only vouch for that of UNN which has produced seasoned geologists of repute. For instance, one of the current blocks of geology department UNN (a very large structure) was built by an alumnus of the department, one of the co-owners of Seplat Energy.

But geology in UNN is not for the faint hearted, any slight slip you will be asked to leave the department.
