In this current economic reality,any salary below 1m can only make you comfortable not rich. You will need a lot of financial discipline to achieve something meaningful like buying land,car or building your house. By financial discipline,it means you are involved in monthly contribution. To the other guy who believed 650k job is not existing, may God change your story in Jesus name. Poverty is a curse.

I would not reject even 500k paid straight to my account monthly (for anything) unless the employer's demand is quite weighty; maybe like he wants me to travel to heaven on a rope of sand.

But rejecting a three months contract as a senior developer that should pay you 3.5 million naira is very, very unwise. I don't know, should we call this foolishness, stupidity, both, or what? Isn't this just about coding? On a device? What are you even purchasing to do this task besides the use of your God-given brain?

And this guy would probably be required to do all he would be doing virtually - through the online space. I say this because you hinted of him getting paid in dollars. NO, this is very unacceptable. Some extremely poor decisions (financial) wear the dirty garment of stupid confidence (of getting hired elsewhere) and extremely (un)wise business negotiation skills.

This bro's wants to pay 200 naira for your wares and you're insisting he pays 250 naira. If he pays 200 naira, you only make a profit of 70 naira. Well, seventy naira is not good profit so you insist he pays 250. After haggling back and forth and no headway, he goes away.

He prefers foreign clients that pay more higher amount and he's already got many contracts he is executing .
What I'm trying to say in all of these is that dude have touched big money running in tens of millions therefore M3.5 looks too small to him but to me it's big money because of my financial level.
On the other hand, this is one mentality I hate among Africans. They acquire their talents and training here and instead of using that talent to work and contribute to the society development, they will prefer to use it in foreign countries just because of money.

He could have put this client on hold, or outsource the job to someone else, or do anything within his ability to see to it that the said client never leaves.

I still regret not venturing into Tech but as for my children,once they clock 3yrs coding and AI programming don start. Infact their formal schooling will be on part time basis.

15 yrs ago, I was like this. Please Oga, come to VI saka tinubu and Adeola Odeku, several places in Lekki, Ikeja etc so many people earning 500k, 700k, 1.8 million, 2.5 million etc monthly 100%. Kindly please don't let your environment or ignorance deceive you.

Naija currency doesn't have value. There is different between real income and money income.

I am just a building services engineer. To be honest, my salary in my previous employment 3yrs ago was 81k net but in kwara state. This is why I mentioned environment also matters. You won't meet some employers/people who value your skills and appreciate it until you change your location. It's one thing to get the skill, it's another thing to be close to those who value the skills and pay for it.
But life is in stages, people do earn in millions but everyone has to be patient. A starter with 0-5yrs experience shouldn't expect the same pay with someone with 10yrs+ experience in the same field
