But you see, some of the 12 apostle were rich already; like Matthew (Bathelomew), like John and James, the sons of Zebedee were from rich families.
Jesus calling them poor in John 6:20-21 is not about earthly riches, but due to fact that they were "spiritually" poor, and were yet to grasp of the riches of kingdom of heaven.

However, one thing I know for a fact is that Jesus DOES NOT hate the poor. That is not the character of my LORD & KING. That was an erroneous statement, and I want to believe it was a slip of tongue because the Bishop of all people should know more than that.

Which Jesus hates the poor? Is it Jesus Christ the Resurrected Son of the Living and Most High God or another Jesus in his coven that he is referring to? Has he ever read Matthew 5:3, Matthew 11:5, Matthew 19:21, Luke 6:20, Luke 14:13, 18:22 where Jesus expressly showed His love or concern for the poor? 2nd CORINTHIANS chapter 8 verse 9 clearly tells that 'though Jesus Christ was rich or could be rich, yet He became poor so that through His poverty, we might become rich.
